The Canon RF lens mount has a shorter flange distance with just 20mm between the rear glass element and the sensor. This has allowed Canon to completely redesign the RF lens range, improving image quality with cutting-edge optics, whilst also reducing the size and weight.
There are now dozens of native full-frame RF lenses to choose from, spanning all focal widths from ultra-wide to highly effective (and the world’s lightest) 600mm and 800mm super telephotos.
