About Us

We've got one mission:
To provide good, honest, friendly advice, creator to creator

With this at the heart of what we do we’ve been able to provide the best customer service to our customers over the years. This lead to winning numerous industry awards along the way, while also garnering high praise from customers on the likes of Trustpilot and Google. Our people are our success, which is why in March 2021 we transitioned the business to an Employee Ownership Trust, which you can read more about below.

Park Cameras is a family run business set-up way back in 1971 by Sussex based photographer Reg Atkins. Reg founded the company with just £500 of used camera stock, growing the business over decades, which sees us celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2021. Under the guidance of Reg’s son Roscoe who took the helm in 2013, we have stayed true to Reg’s original vision and continue to provide good honest advice from one photographer to another. We are proud of our roots, have relished all of the hard work and invite visitors to read more and watch the company video on our history page.

Throughout these 50 years of business we have forged a reputation across the photographic industry as one of the top independent retailers in the UK. Our people are key to this success and all of our team are enthusiastic photographers themselves, delivering expert advice across product ranges, together with a generous helping of enthusiasm, which fellow photographers always appreciate.

Employee Ownership Trust

For these reasons the company was transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust in 2021. Being beneficiaries of the trust will ensure our staff drive a new level of enthusiasm and commitment to our customers. We will always strive to make Park Cameras the most inspiring place for everything photographic, for any level of photographer and videographer.

“Be the most inspiring place for content creators”

We’ve always worked “To provide good, honest, friendly advice from one photographer to another.” This was Reg’s original vision from the day Park Cameras was established.

This developed to be our mission, but has evolved slightly, recognising that a lot of the team and our customers are not just photographers these days but content creators, whether that’s still or moving content. So our mission has evolved... “To provide good, honest friendly advice, creator to creator.”

Our vision has evolved too: "To be the most inspiring place for content creators."

As we have grown, so have our stores and our product ranges. Our Sussex and London showrooms are packed with 1000’s of photography products and accessories, where customers can try equipment and ask staff anything about the gear we provide. We’re as passionate about sharing knowledge as we are about making images ourselves, which is why we always deliver advice from photographer to photographer, helping customers choose the best equipment for them, at the best possible prices.

Online shoppers qualify for free delivery on every order over £50 and the ‘click and collect’ service lets customers collect items within two hours of ordering. We’ll even pick up customer trade in equipment directly from them. We really do work hard to earn the positive reviews we receive.

It’s not just the great service that we provide which brings customers back to us. It’s also how we try to inspire the photographic community through engaging events, workshops and courses. All training and events are delivered by working professionals, brand ambassadors and experts in their field, from wildlife photographers to studio photographers and many more inspiring individuals. We love sharing expert photographic knowledge, after all it takes passion to create something remarkable.

We would love to connect with each and every one of our customers and are building online communities with like minded people through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Why not join us on social media for one of our many livestream events with leading photography brands and enjoy some photography banter too. Our Youtube channel is also one of the fastest growing photography retail channels, delivering in-depth gear reviews, useful tutorials and much more. We hope to see you there.

As a Pro-Dealer, our knowledgeable staff receive regular training to ensure that the buying advice and technical assistance we can offer is second to none - for both photographic beginners and pros alike. In addition to this, our Pro-Dealer status helps us to ensure that we continue to only supply UK stock to our customers and ensures that we are amongst the first to receive stock of the latest digital cameras, camcorders and accessories in the UK.

Our Customer Promise would mean little without the actions to ensure that we proactively work towards achieving it. Pleasingly, over the last few years, Park Cameras has been recognised on several occasions, both by the wider industry and our actual customer base, for award-winning customer service as well as the standard of both our ‘high street’ and online retail shopping experience.

Adopting a fresh approach to photographic retailing, our Showroom adopts a ‘touch and try’ ethos, designed to put the very latest photographic products and technologies into the hands of the customer – the ideal way to choose the right product for your needs. Home to over 7,000 imaging products, including 250 within our branded ‘touch and try’ zones, we have made it our aim to ensure that we can provide a product and/or service solution across both imaging input and output. With over 50 of the world’s leading brands all under one roof, including the likes of Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Panasonic, Sony and Samsung to name but a few. With a huge selection of cameras, lenses, photographic accessories, studio lighting, printers, scanners and software we are confident that, combined with our staff’s excellent level of product knowledge, photographic solutions to meet every need can be found all under the one roof.

In addition to the very latest products available at Park Cameras we also offer a range of added value services. Our award-winning Fujifilm processing lab combines traditional and modern forms of mass photo printing, complemented by the presence of in-store self-service kiosks and extended printing options, such as canvas prints, all managed and supported by a dedicated section of our team.

Further to this we are able to offer vital services such as a range of sensor cleaning options as well as acting as the conduit between the customer and the manufacturer when it comes to dealing with repairs and faulty items.
