Fujifilm X-T4 Body in Black Summary
The X-T4 is Fujifilm's flagship mirrorless digital camera body in black, which features a series of upgrades over the previous highly successful XT-3 model. It is quicker than its predecessor, with the fastest ever autofocus performance in any X Series camera. The XT-4 also boasts the world's fastest burst mode in any APS-C sized mirrorless body, providing 15fps mechanical shutter or up to 30fps electronic shutter mode (as of February 2020). This reinforces the XT-4 as an ideal hybrid choice for sports, action, wedding and street photographers to name a few. images are captured with the highly successful X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor, providing 26.1MP of detail with further improvements to Fuji's already renowned Face and Eye Detection AF.
The camera body has been further enhanced for professional and enthusiast users and now boasts a highly durable 300,000 shots capability. The new high capacity NP-W235 battery can capture around 500 frames per charge in normal mode or 600 in economy. Stills photographers and videographers will benefit from an all-new magnetic in-body image stabilisation system (IBIS). This provides 6.5 stops of image stabilisation when used with 18 of the 29 currently available Fujifilm XF and XC lenses. Smooth stabilised video is now a siangle switch away and can be captured at 4K 60p as well as at high speed up to 240p in Full HD mode, perfect for slow-motion footage. Both the high-resolution OLED EVF and new higher resolution vari-angle LCD screen provide 100% coverage and feature Fuji's advanced phase-detect autofocus system down to near complete darkness at -6.0EV.
Fujifilm X-T4 Body in detail
As an evolution of the previous highly successful camera model, the XT-4 packs a series of new components for ever greater capabilities. It is the first XT camera to feature an IBIS mechanism. A refined layout of the shutter's shock absorbing structure and newly developed gyro sensors boast around 8x the detection accuracy of the IBIS unit in the X-h2. The X-T4 uses the back illuminated 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and high-speed X-Processor 4 image processing engine. A newly developed high torque coreless DC motor provides 15fps in burst mode and a shutter release lag of just 0.035 seconds.
Highlight and shadow tones from -2 to +4 can now be adjusted by 1/2 stops, instead of 1 stop, allowing for finer tonality. White Balance now has 'White Priority' and 'Ambience Priority' options in addition to 'AUTO.' The 'White Priority' mode reproduces a stronger white, while the 'Ambience Priority' produces a warmer tone, enabling better results straight out of camera in auto settings. A new compressed RAW setting has also been added to the menu for smaller RAW files.
Photographers who shoot at high speeds will enjoy 15fps with mechanical as well as blackout-free burst shooting of 30fps in electronic shutter. Both LCD and EV feature various boost modes for different ambient light situations. Tracking AF performance has also undergone complete enhancement, with tracking success rate doubled compared to the X-T3. The Face / Eye AF performance has also been dramatically improved. Enhanced tracking ability has made focusing and taking portraits even easier than ever before, with autofocus performance as fast as 0.02 seconds.
An F-Log View Assist function has been added to correct low contrast or low saturation video while recording in F-Log. Video is converted equivalent to BT.709 for display to make it easier to attain the correct exposure while recording movies.

Data transfer is quicker than ever with the inclusion of a USB-C cable as well as easy sharing through low energy Bluetooth and included Wifi.

Our Verdict
The XT-series has always combined advanced stills and video capabilities in one hybrid body and the Fujifilm XT-4 represents the pinnacle of this combination of technologies. It is a considerable advancement over the previous model with an all new 5-axis in-body stabilisation system capable of capturing far sharper images and movies. The new vari-angle LCD monitor facilitates shooting difficult angles easily. Class leading shooting speeds provide 15fps burst as well as the most accurate AF system ever seen on an X Series body, thanks to updated algorithms. Useability of the camera has also been enhanced with a single switch for quick changing between photo and video settings, along with entirely separate film/stills menus for easier navigation.
The XT-4 body is aimed firmly at professionals and advanced enthusiasts, now providing longer battery life and more durable shutter capacities. Many photographers will benefit from the quieter operation, whether shooting in wildlife, sports or wedding scenarios. Movies in Full HD can be played back in 10x slow motion effect with 240p, as well as capturing smooth high quality 4K at 60p without the need for a tripod. Dual high speed SD card slots can back-up video or photo data as well as providing large capacity storage when travelling or shooting away from home. Fujifilm are loved for their desirable colour science and this model sees the introduction of a new Film Simulation mode, ETERNA Bleach Bypass. Together these upgrades ensure the XT-4 is a firm favourite with both new and existing Fujifilm photographers.

Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.
