The Silver PEN takes on a particularly classic character with a small standard prime attached. Rather than trying to fit everything into the frame, this pairing encourages you to simplify the scene and concentrate on what caught your attention, a person across the table, an interesting detail or something worth remembering from the day.
A bright maximum aperture gives subjects room to stand apart from their surroundings and adds freedom indoors or as daylight fades. The lens itself weighs just 156g, keeping that beautifully balanced feel that makes the combination easy to bring along for meals, weekends, portraits and the unplanned photographs in between.
Creative Profiles let you shape colour and monochrome looks as you shoot, backed up by computational tools for experimenting with movement, depth and light. Phase-detection autofocus with AI recognition and 5-axis stabilisation quietly support the process, while the electronic viewfinder offers a more focused way to compose. Switch to 4K or vertical video when the moment works better in motion.

Simplicity can be surprisingly creative
A standard prime encourages you to look for individual subjects rather than simply taking in everything around them. People gain more presence, food and objects become compositions in their own right, and distracting surroundings are easier to leave outside the frame.
Opening the aperture provides more separation when you want it, with a seven-blade circular diaphragm helping defocused areas render naturally. Move closer and the 0.25m minimum focusing distance offers another way to simplify the composition around smaller subjects.
Monochrome and Colour Profiles put personal expression at the heart of the shooting experience. Four customisable profiles are available for each, with controls for colour, tone and contrast alongside ready-made options ranging from rich, soft and vivid colour to film-inspired black-and-white looks.
A dedicated dial on the body keeps these creative choices right at your fingertips, making it easy to experiment with different colour and monochrome treatments while you shoot. Once you find a look you love, it can give your images a recognisable character without relying on editing afterwards.
Save, collect and share your favourite styles
The free OI.Share app takes creative looks further by letting you build a library of Colour and Monochrome recipes. Choose an image you like, import the recipe and transfer those settings so they’re ready to use.
You can also share recipes with other people, try looks they’ve created and share new ideas as your style develops.
Play with movement, depth and layers
A dedicated Computational Photography button opens up creative ways to capture everyday moments. Live ND16 can blur movement in daylight without adding an ND filter, Focus Stacking is useful for macro and close-ups, while other tools let you layer scenes together and preview the end result.
Handheld High Res Shot provides extra detail for larger prints or more freedom to crop, while HDR helps balance challenging light. For longer exposures, Live Composite, Live Time and Live Bulb give you more ways to play with light and movement. There are also 16 Art Filters and six groups of Scene Modes to see different approaches instantly.
These give you more ways to experiment, from turning passing headlights into trails and smoothing moving water to layering abstract images.
Keep up with people and pets
Advanced intelligent autofocus combines 121 all-cross-type phase-detection points with AI subject detection for people, dogs and cats, helping you stay focused on the moment rather than the focus point.
Keep shooting, even when the light fades
Built-in 5-axis stabilisation reduces camera shake, making multi-second handheld exposures possible. This opens up more creative ways to capture low light and night scenes.
Tell the story with photos and video
A dedicated Still, Video and S&Q switch lets you change how you capture a moment without breaking your flow. Record movies in 4K, shoot vertically for reels and other social content, or experiment with slow and quick-motion sequences.
Colour and Monochrome Profiles carry across to movies, helping stills and footage share the same visual identity. OM-Cinema 1 and 2 provide further options, while a new microphone input supports better-quality audio for vlogging and other content.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose this kit rather than the body only?
It gives you a small, lightweight prime from the outset, with a natural field of view suited to people, food, objects and general photography. Buying the body alone makes more sense if you already own compatible Micro Four Thirds lenses or have a different focal length in mind.
Should I choose the 17mm or 25mm prime kit?
Choose the 17mm if you prefer including more of the surroundings around your subject. The 25mm gives a tighter view that places greater emphasis on people and individual details. Both are bright, compact primes, so the main difference is how much of the scene you want in frame.
Can I photograph subjects at close range?
Yes. The lens focuses down to 0.25m with 0.12x maximum magnification (0.24x in 35mm-equivalent terms), useful for food, objects and other details, though it isn’t a dedicated macro lens.
What battery does the camera use?
The included BLS-7 rechargeable battery is rated for approximately 410 shots and can be charged in-camera via USB-C. The optional BCS-7 Battery Charger offers a separate charging option.

Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.
