Westcott FJ80 II Sony Round Head TTL Touchscreen Speedlight 80Ws

The Westcott FJ80 II Sony is a powerful and refreshingly easy to use 80Ws round head speedlight built for photographers who shoot with Sony gear and want performance without complicated menus. Whether used on-camera or off-camera, it works as both a flash and a wireless transmitter, giving you confident control of the wider FJ Wireless Flash System. With full Sony TTL and High-Speed Sync support, a responsive touchscreen, strong battery life, ultra-fast flash duration and dependable wireless performance, this speedlight is designed to keep up with real-world shooting.

  • Sony photographers who want a dedicated flash with full TTL and HSS support
  • Event and wedding photographers who need fast recycling and reliable wireless control
  • Location shooters who want a compact flash that also doubles as a transmitter
  • Sports, dance and action shooters needing ultra-fast flash freeze

Key Features

  • 80Ws round head speedlight with smooth, even light output
  • Large 2.8 cm LCD colour touchscreen with intuitive menu system
  • Built-in 2.4 GHz wireless transceiver for the FJ Wireless Flash System
  • 500+ full-power flashes per charge

  • Extremely fast flash duration up to 1/31000s (t0.1) and 1/55600s (t0.5)

  • Continuous shooting up to 20 fps (camera-dependent)

Touchscreen Control Made Simple

The FJ80 II Sony combines a full touchscreen interface with an integrated radio transceiver. The 2.8 cm colour LCD replaces fiddly buttons with clear, responsive touch controls, making adjustments fast and intuitive. Power levels can be adjusted in 0.1 or 1 stop increments across a full 9 stop range, and settings such as group assignment, channel selection and exposure compensation are easy to access mid-shoot.

Sony TTL and High-Speed Sync Support

This version of the FJ80 II is optimised specifically for Sony cameras, giving you complete TTL and High-Speed Sync support. You wont miss out on flash automation or high shutter speeds, making it seamless to integrate into a Sony workflow, whether youre shooting portraits, events or dynamic action.

Flash and Transmitter in One

Thanks to its built-in 2.4 GHz transceiver, the FJ80 II Sony can be used on-camera as both a flash and a transmitter. From the hot shoe you can control FJ800, FJ400 and FJ200 strobes, FJ-XR receivers and other off-camera FJ80 units. When used off-camera the FJ80 II acts as a client speedlight and can receive a sync signal from other FJ transmitters.

Freezing Motion with Confidence

Where the FJ80 II really stands out is flash duration. With speeds as fast as 1/31000s (t0.1) and an astonishing 1/55600s (t0.5), it is exceptionally well suited to freezing motion. Whether you are photographing dance, sports, action portraits or fast-moving subjects on location, the FJ80 II delivers crisp results with minimal motion blur, even without relying on high shutter speeds.

Consistent Colour and Reliable Wireless Performance

Colour consistency is excellent, with a stable 5500K output across the entire power range. This ensures predictable results throughout a shoot and seamless matching with other lights in the FJ flash system. Wireless communication remains reliable up to 100 m, even in high-interference environments such as weddings and events, with support for up to 16 groups across 31 channels.

Built for Speed and Endurance

The removable 11.1 V 1600 mAh lithium polymer battery delivers over 500 full-power flashes per charge and fully recharges in around two hours. Fast recycle times of 0.05 to 1.5 seconds support continuous shooting up to 20 fps. Self-monitoring heat protection allows for longer shooting sessions without compromising safety or performance, while the built-in LED modelling lamp offers auto-adjust and independent output control.

Flexible Mounting and Movement

The flash head offers 360 degree horizontal rotation and 90 degree vertical tilt, giving you full freedom when shaping light. It can be mounted on-camera, off-camera via the hot shoe, or using the built-in 1/4”-20 female thread. The included shoe stand allows the unit to be used free-standing and can also be mounted directly to most light stands.
