The arrival of the Viltrox AF 75mm f/1.2 XF Pro Lens for Fujifilm X mount heralds the first PRO lens from Viltrox, and is the result of many years of optical experience. The short telephoto prime offers a 115mm focal width (full-frame equivalent) and is designed exclusively for Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras, with fast, precise AF performance, which supports Eye/Face and animal subject detection.
Viltrox has teamed up with Hoya for this pro lens, utilising special nitrate material imported from Japan, which ensures first class optical performance that has been combined with well considered ergonomics for professional handling. Build quality is also high, with high-strength aluminium alloy used throughout the design.
A large maximum f/1.2 aperture allows you to experiment with extremely shallow depth of field and create subject separation, while gathering light even in extremely dark environments. Results are compelling, whether shooting portraits, fashion or weddings, with high resolution, sharp details apparent across the frame from the centre right to the edges. An 11-bladed aperture diaphragm renders beautifully smooth bokeh and silky out-of-focus areas, helping to make portraits pop with three-dimensional appeal.

Pro-grade optical performance
The PRO lens optical design includes 16 elements in 11 groups, including four high-refractive index elements and three extra-low dispersion (ED) elements. These render high resolution, detailed and well controlled short telephoto results.
Viltrox’s optical design, which includes a high-definition nano-multilayer coating, draws-out every detail and suppresses the effects of chromatic aberration, whilst APO level dispersion correction is also impressive.
Large f/1.2 aperture
The large aperture of F1.2 opens creative possibilities even during the dark of night, with a higher shutter speed and a lower ISO for smoother and cleaner images. This wide aperture also allows you to play with shallow depth of field, focusing on the eyes and minute details in the frame, rendering blurry backgrounds with smooth out of focus areas. When shooting handheld video the large aperture enables you to gather available light for creative and expressive scenes.
Advanced Autofocus performance
The latest STM stepping motor algorithm found in the AF 75mm f/1.2 XF Pro Lens provides the high driving force required for precise autofocus and tracking. Resulting autofocus is fast, smooth, precise and quiet, tracking well even when shooting with an extremely shallow depth of field. The STM also supports better response, lower latency eye autofocus, animal focus and other subject recognition found in Fujifilm cameras.
All-metal lens body with a natural finish
High-strength aluminium alloy has been forged into a pure black matte metal lens body, which is natural, strong and lightweight. The newly upgraded logo draws attention to the Pro designation and its extraordinary capabilities. The lens also features a unique clicked aperture ring design, which delivers exquisitely smooth damping and feel solid in use.
A Precision brass plated bayonet made using a special treatment process, provides a durable lens mount and metal electronic contacts support EXIF transmission between the lens and camera body. Lastly an integrated USB-C port is built-in for simple lens firmware updates.

Our Verdict
The addition of this Fujifilm lens is great for the Fuji community, providing a high-quality short telephoto prime, to add to the array of options available for the system. Results are outstanding, with impressive image quality even when shooting wide open at the maximum aperture. The AF 75mm f/1.2 XF Pro also demonstrates high resolving power, keeping up with the latest 40MP sensors found in cameras such as the X-T5 and X-H2.
An 11-bladed aperture is capable of rendering smooth, rounded bokeh and users can achieve an extremely shallow depth of field, with silky defocus areas within the shot. The wide aperture allows plenty of light in, which is ideal for low light situations and when shooting handheld.
When using autofocus, this first Pro lens from Viltrox delivers with fast, quiet and accurate results, thanks to a stepping motor, which is fully compatible with Fujifilm subject detection, whether shooting stills or video.
Build quality is also high and the lens features an AF/MF switch, unique aperture ring and smooth focus ring, all set within a weather sealed aluminium alloy chassis, which is dressed with the new Pro logo. Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.
