The Viltrox AF 15mm f/1.7 Lens for Sony E Mount is a compact, wide-angle prime lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras, which provides a 22.5mm equivalent focal length in full-frame terms. It offers a fast maximum aperture of f/1.7, which is ideal for capturing low-light scenes and achieving quick snapshots of a moving subject, while the 12 element optical design helps to produce sharp, well-corrected images right across the frame.
This Sony E lens weighs under 200g and measures just 69.5mm long, which is extremely compact and suitable for everyday use, especially with smaller Sony cameras like the A6400 series or vlogging cameras like the ZV-E10 series. A quiet STM autofocus motor supports stills and video recording, with full electronic communication for EXIF data, aperture control, and compatibility with in-body image stabilisation on supported bodies.
Available in Sony E mount this lens features a clicked aperture ring and manual focus override for when you need pinpoint focus or manual video focus. It also includes a built-in petal-shaped lens hood to suppress flare, ghosting and protect the front element. With a minimum focus distance of 19cm, it can also handle creative close-ups with exaggerated perspectives, video and vlogging from arms length.

Compact wide-angle lens for Sony
This lens offers a 15mm focal length, which gives a 22.5mm equivalent angle of view when mounted on an APS-C camera. This is ideal for general wide-angle photography, such as landscapes, interiors, city scenes, astro and travel. It’s also a good option for video and vlogging thanks to the wide angle of view, low weight and close minimum focusing.
Fast f/1.7 aperture
The maximum aperture of f/1.7 is helpful if available light is low, and it enables creative depth of field control, albeit somewhat restricted due to the ultra wide angle view.
Advanced optical design
The lens includes 12 elements in 10 groups, with one ED element and two aspherical elements to reduce aberrations and maintain image sharpness and great contrast across the whole frame.
Quiet STM autofocus system
An internal stepping motor (STM) provides fast and quiet autofocus for both stills and video. The lens also supports manual focus with direct override and a large focus ring for easy MF control.
Lightweight with electronic integration
Despite its bright aperture and wide field of view, this prime lens weighs just 173g (approx) and includes full electronic communication with compatible cameras. This enables EXIF recording, aperture control via the body, and in-body image stabilisation where supported.

Condition guide
Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.
