The Samyang AF 14-24mm f/2.8 Lens for Sony FE is a full-frame autofocus zoom lens with an ultra-wide 14-24mm zoom range in a remarkably compact and lightweight design. Made exclusively for Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, this ultra wide lens combines premium performance, with precise focusing, and the convenience of being able to use regular front 77mm filters, which is a world-first for this type of Sony E mount lens.
It is jointly developed between LK Samyang and the German optics brand Schneider-Kreuznach, in order to deliver superb sharpness and optical quality across the frame, even wide open at f/2.8. The result is an extremely versatile lens for landscape photography, architectural work, astro photography, environmental portraits, and much more. It also boasts a very close minimum focusing distance of just 0.18m, which is useful for creating bold perspectives and wide-angle close-up shots.
With comprehensive weather sealing, a customisable focus hold button, and the option to use the focus ring as an aperture ring via Samyang’s Lens Manager software, the lens offers endless creative versatility. Autofocus is powered by Samyang’s tried-and-tested linear stepping motor that offers fast, quiet and accurate performance for both stills and video.

Spanning a favoured 14-24mm range on full-frame E-mount cameras, with a field of view of 114.2º - 84.1º, this lens delivers an expansive field of view, which is perfect for a variety of subjects including landscapes, interiors, and architecture. It offers a constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the range, which allows for consistent exposure and control over depth of field throughout the zoom.
Compact and Travel-Ready
Despite its ultra-wide focal length, the lens weighs just 445g, and measures only 88.8mm in length, which is ideal for handheld use, travel photography, and gimbal-mounted video recording.
Outstanding Image Quality
Having been jointly developed with Schneider-Kreuznach, the optical construction features 15 elements in 11 groups, including 3 aspherical, 5 HR lenses and 3 ED. The result is superb sharpness across the entire image area, along with excellent correction for chromatic aberration and sagittal coma, cementing this as a great option for astrophotography and any type of low-light situation.
Close Focusing and Creative Flexibility
With a minimum focus distance of just 0.18m and up to 0.26x magnification, the lens is well-suited for wide-angle super close-up compositions. Subjects can be placed in the foreground for strong, engaging compositions, especially when combined with the high magnification.
User-Friendly Features
As a first in its category, a 77mm front filter thread allows for greater creative control with regular threaded polarising or ND filters. This means that you can easily use landscape kits such as the LEE Filters LEE100 Filter System Landscape Kit or the Kase Armour Entry Kit 100mm System, which is rare on lenses this wide. Additional convenient features include customisable focus hold button and AF/MF switch for manual control, while the focus ring can be reassigned to control aperture when using Samyang’s Lens Manager software.

Condition guide
Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.
