PolarPro Helix VND Kit Summary
PolarPro has released a brand new magnetic Helix MagLock Filter System, which makes it quicker and easier to switch out lens filters for long exposures, stills and video recording. This PolarPro Helix VND Kit a brilliant starting point to join the system, as it includes a versatile 2-5 stop Helix Variable ND filter for diverse lighting conditions and two common size lens bases, which screw onto your camera lens.
Once the included 77mm Thread Base or 82mm Thread Base are attached, you simply add the VND filter, which magnetically attaches, then locks into place with a simple 1/4 turn. This unique attachment offers excellent security and ensures your lens filters stay attached even when recording run-and-gun content.
As well as the included VND there is a Helix 6-9 Stop VND Filter and numerous special effects or dual filters, like the PolarPro Helix 2-5 Stop VND Mist Filter and Helix BlueMorphic Filter. This comprehensive choice of custom lens filters ensures you can find the perfect one to match your creative goals and capture unique scenes with any lens/filter combination possible. Industry-Leading VND Colour Reproduction and Accuracy
The variable neutral density filter employs PolarPro’s most advanced glass technology to date, resulting in razor-sharp optics with zero colour shift in all lighting conditions. All of the Helix components are made with a brass construction for smooth connections and a rubber trim ring is integrated into each filter for ergonomic grip.
How to use the Helix MagLock Filter System
Firstly position the correctly sized base plate to your lens, by simply threading it on securely. To add a filter, align the tan Filter push-tabs with the tan lines on the Base Plate. Once aligned, the Filter will magnetise and snap to the Base Plate, and when seated, rotate the filter clockwise until it locks into place. That’s it, you’re ready to shoot knowing that your filters are securely locked in place.

Can Helix be used with other filter systems?
No, the Helix MagLock system is not interchangeable with other PolarPro or 3rd party systems.
Do Helix filters cause vignetting?
All Helix filters avoid vignetting down to 16mm focal widths when using one single filter. When stacking two filters, vignetting starts to occur below around 19mm.
What size lens threads does Helix fit?
Helix filters connect to your lenses via Base Plates, which are available in 67mm, 72mm, 77mm, and 82mm thread sizes.
Can multiple Helix filters be stacked?
Yes, Helix filters can be stacked and combined to create desired effects, with some vignetting at focal width below 20mm when stacking more than one filter.

Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.

This product has been thoroughly tested by our team of photographers and we are happy to give a 6 month warranty as a result. The number of tests depends on the individual product but we are confident in this product having tested all the major functions. Anything that isn’t as you would expect, we then make a note of and show this in the condition notes on the page.
