The L-mount lens range continues to grow with this Lumix S 50mm f/1.8 lens,which has been designed by Panasonic as one of four common-sized optics for L-mount mirrorless cameras. Weighing in at just 300g. the 50mm standard prime is well suited to a wide range of subjects from portraits to landscapes, general purpose shooting and also excels for video. Lumix full frame lenses feature complex optics to ensure high quality results, with a mechanism that suppresses focus breathing off videographers. Smooth exposure changes can also be made with a micro-step aperture control, maintaining professional quality video for which Panasonic cameras are known.
Nine lens elements in eight groups include three aspherical lenses, one ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lens and one UHR (Ultra-High Refractive Index). Combined these result in excellent sharpness, with well suppressed chromatic aberration in all sorts of shooting situations.
Those who shoot at close range get a minimum focal distance of 0.45m, which allows a decent level of close-up compositions at a 0.14x magnification. This does allow for another layer of versatility when capturing details or more abstract shots which a lens of this nature affords.

- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
