Canon EOS R10 with RF-S 18-150mm IS STM Lens Summary
This kit pairs the Canon EOS R10 APS-C mirrorless camera with the RF-S 18-150mm IS STM lens, covering wide-angle to telephoto subjects in a compact, lightweight setup. With an effective focal range equivalent to 29-240mm (full-frame terms), it is ideal for travel, everyday photography, even closer wildlife, and video without the need to swap lenses.
The 24.2MP APS-C sensor is combined with Canon’s DIGIC X processor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, delivering fast autofocus with subject recognition for people, animals, and vehicles. Continuous shooting reaches an impressive 15fps with the mechanical shutter or up to 23fps when shooting with the electronic shutter, making the kit suitable for fast action, sports and wildlife.
For video the EOS R10 records oversampled 4K/30p from 6K, cropped 4K/60p, and Full HD up to 120p, catering to demanding content creation needs. The RF-S 18-150mm lens includes 4.5 stops of optical image stabilisation, supporting steady handheld shooting for both stills and video. Built-in wireless connectivity, a vari-angle touchscreen, and compact handling make this kit perfect for hybrid creators who want advanced features without the size of a full-frame option.
Canon EOS R10 with RF-S 18-150mm IS STM Lens In more detail
APS-C performance and compact handling
The EOS R10 has a 24.2MP APS-C sensor that balances resolution, speed, and low-light performance. The 1.6x crop factor extends telephoto reach, which is useful for wildlife and sports, while keeping the camera compact. ISO ranges from 100 to 32,000 (expandable), allowing you to shoot in any lighting conditions.
A 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder provides a clear, real-time view with selectable refresh rates, while the fully articulated 2.95-inch touchscreen supports high and low-angle shooting, selfies, and vlogging. A built-in flash adds quick fill light when needed.
Autofocus and continuous burst
Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II uses deep-learning algorithms to recognise and track eyes, faces, bodies, animals including birds, and vehicles such as cars and motorbikes. With up to 651 autofocus zones and near full-frame coverage, subjects can be tracked reliably even towards the edges of the frame.
High-speed shooting options make the camera suitable for action. The mechanical shutter delivers up to 15fps, while the electronic shutter increases this to 23fps for silent shooting, supported by a buffer suitable for short bursts of RAW or extended JPEG sequences.
Video features and connectivity
Video recording includes 4K/30p oversampled from 6K for improved detail, cropped 4K/60p for smoother motion, and Full HD up to 120p for slow-motion footage. Support for HDR PQ and 10-bit output over HDMI adds flexibility for more advanced workflows.
Connectivity options feature Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for image transfer and remote control, USB-C for charging and data, a micro HDMI output, and a 3.5mm microphone input. Files can be uploaded directly to Canon’s image.canon service for cloud processing and sharing.
Included RF-S 18-150mm IS STM lens
The included RF-S 18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM lens covers everyday wide-angle shooting through to telephoto reach in a single zoom. Optical image stabilisation provides up to 4.5 stops of correction, helping maintain sharp handheld images and smoother video. STM focusing supports quiet, smooth autofocus for video and stills, and the close focusing capability allows for detailed close-up work at the wide end.
The RF mount also supports the full range of Canon RF lenses, as well as EF and EF-S lenses via adapters, allowing the system to expand as needs change.
If you are interested in how this camera and lens combination performs in real-world wildlife use, it is featured in our Budget-Friendly Wildlife Photography with Canon hands-on guide, which explores its strengths as a compact field setup.

Yes. The compact body, lightweight design, and broad zoom range of the RF-S 18-150mm lens make this kit easy to carry while covering most travel photography needs.
What memory cards does the Canon EOS R10 use?
The camera has a single SD card slot that supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC cards, including UHS-II, which are suitable for 4K video recording and high-speed burst shooting.

Our Verdict
The Canon EOS R10 with RF-S 18-150mm IS STM lens is a great entry point into Canon’s EOS R system. The APS-C sensor ensures that the body is compact while adding useful reach, and the all-in-one zoom makes it easy to cover wide-angle through to telephoto subjects without changing lenses.
Autofocus is fast and reliable, burst shooting is very quick for this class, and video quality is outstanding, with oversampled 4K and useful slow-motion options. It is a versatile choice for beginner to intermediate photographers and hybrid shooters who want speed, flexibility, and modern mirrorless features in a lightweight kit, without a larger or more expensive full-frame body.
