Ultra-wide field of view
A 9mm focal length on APS-C covers113.8º diagonally. This allows large scenes to be captured with ease, which is useful for interiors, architecture and landscapes. It also supports environmental compositions where both the subject and surroundings need to be sharp within a single frame.
Optical construction and image quality
The lens has 13 elements arranged in 11 groups, including 2 aspherical, 3 ED and 3 high refractive elements. This reduces chromatic aberration and maintains detail across the frame, particularly towards the edges where ultra-wide lenses are sometimes soft. Distortion is controlled to keep straight lines straight, which is ideal for buildings and interiors that have to look realistic without converging lines.
Close minimum focusing
A minimum focusing distance of 0.13 metres allows subjects to be placed very close to the front element while retaining a wide background. This creates depth and scale, and also supports focus stacking where multiple images are combined for extended depth of field.

- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
