It makes an excellent choice for travel and all round single lens for a wide range of subjects thanks to a 16.6x zoom ratio covering wide to super telephoto focal lengths for 27-450mm full frame format. It combines Tamron's VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear focus motor, delivering excellent AF performance with vibration control (VC) to help stabilise your shots when handholding. Weather sealing has also been added to keep the lens more safe when shooting outdoors in wet or dusty dry weather.

All-in-one zoom lens
Whether you shoot landscape panoramas or close-up architectural details the 18-300mm corresponds to a full frame focal length of 27-450mm and leaves nothing to be desired. This focal range is also ideal for portraits and close-ups so you can shoot anything that inspires you.
Best-in-class AF
The autofocus system of the 18-300mm is based on VXD linear motor technology developed for Tamron lenses. This focuses on your subject quickly and precisely, even at the 300mm telephoto range focus changes from the minimum setting distance to infinity quickly. As autofocus works almost silently the lens is also ideal for photo and video recording in situations where absolute silence is required.
VC image stabiliser
The lens has Tamron's VC image stabilisation which compensates for unwanted camera movements in low lighting conditions, such as indoors or after sunset. In addition, it is equipped with artificial intelligence that automatically selects the optimal VC setting for video recordings with focal lengths of up to 70mm.

Our Verdict
With the popularity of this lens on other camera systems it was only a matter of time before Tamron launched the 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di III-A VC VXD into the Fujifilm lens range. You’ll be able to capture epic landscape scenes through to architectural details, portraits and much more with great results from such an all-in-one superzoom. Despite the long reach the lens remains compact and relatively lightweight at 620g measuring 75.5mm x 125.6mm. This means it’s the ideal candidate for travel and hiking as a single lens solution to capture virtually anything.
An extremely close focus capability and 1:2 macro capability makes it even more versatile, ensuring owners will keep it firmly on their camera a lot of the time. Focusing is responsive fast and quiet, providing users with best in class results for capturing their subjects. Tamron also included their proprietary VC system to reduce the effects of camera shake, essential for such a long zoom range. This means you’ll get sharp shots when the light is dimmer and you can shoot at slower shutter speeds. Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.
