Swarovski 10x30 CL Companion III Safari Brown Binoculars Summary
The Swarovski 10x30 CL Companion III Safari Brown Binoculars are a compact premium binocular offering increased magnification for observing distant subjects in greater detail. They form part of Swarovski’s travel-friendly range, combining reach with a lightweight and easy-to-handle design.
With 10x magnification and a 115m field of view at 1000m, the 10x30 CL Companion III allows distant subjects to be viewed more closely across landscapes, wildlife settings and open terrain. The 550g weight and compact size support comfortable handheld use over extended periods.
This model suits wildlife observation, travel and general outdoor viewing, and is ideal for users who want to focus on detail at distance while retaining portability and straightforward operation. It maintains clear image reproduction, stable viewing and effective reach in use.
Overview and Key Improvements
The third-generation CL Companion introduces an updated bridge design which improves balance and grip during extended viewing. The revised shape supports a more stable hold in hand, while ergonomic refinements reduce fatigue over longer periods. Optical performance remains consistent with high contrast and natural colour reproduction, maintaining clear viewing across changing light conditions. This 10x30 configuration prioritises increased magnification, supporting more detailed observation of distant subjects.

Swarovski 10x30 CL Companion III Safari Brown Binoculars In More Detail
Increased magnification
10x magnification brings distant subjects closer, making it easier to observe fine detail such as texture, movement and behaviour. This is particularly useful in open environments where subjects remain at a distance.
Optical performance
The optical system maintains high contrast and natural colour reproduction with approximately 90% light transmission. This supports clear viewing in changing light conditions, including early morning and late afternoon.
Field of view
A 115m field of view at 1000m provides a more focused viewing area compared to 8x models. This supports detailed observation while maintaining enough width to follow subject movement.
Close focusing distance
A minimum focusing distance of 3m allows observation of nearby subjects when required. This supports flexibility across both distant and closer viewing scenarios.
Ergonomic design
The updated bridge structure improves grip and balance, which is important when using higher magnification. Combined with a 550g weight, the binocular remains manageable during extended handheld use.
Eyeglass compatibility
An 18mm eye relief and adjustable eyecups support comfortable viewing when wearing glasses. The eyecups adjust precisely to maintain a clear image with minimal shadowing.
Waterproof construction
The housing is sealed against water ingress up to 4m and operates across a temperature range of -25°C to +55°C. This supports use in varied environments and weather conditions.

Is this suitable for travel?
Yes. The compact size and 550g weight make it suitable for carrying over long distances.
