Sony UWP-D26 Wireless Mic Kit Summary
Sony has combined high quality 24-bit Digital Signal Processing (DSP) with a smaller and lighter design in this 4th generation UWP-D26 Transmitter and XLR Plug-On Wireless Microphone Package. Despite advanced features the system is easy to set up and operate, now featuring one-button NFC SYNC, which takes advantage of nearfield communication. Sony protects the signal with true diversity reception, two receiving antennas and two RF tuning circuits. The receiver constantly compares the two signals while automatically outputting the stronger signal. You can even optimise receiver antenna angles for further transmission clarity.

Auto Gain Mode
You won’t always know the volume of your talent’s voice in advance, so Auto Gain mode has you covered, which sets the gain moderately high, then uses a limiter to help prevent distortion.
+15 dB off-mic Audio Boost
The +15 dB boost resets the gain when the microphone is not near the person’s mouth, helping to avoid insufficient audio levels during interviews.
Line Input
Set the appropriate input levels with MIC/LINE switching levels and adjustable attenuators.
Channel Memory
The Channel Memory function excels when you’re using one receiver in combination with two transmitters, where you can instantly switch between the previously set channel and the current channel.
Transmitter Frequency Sent to Receiver
NFC communication relays transmitter settings such as frequency and compander mode directly to the receiver, making it easy to set up multiple receivers in combination with one transmitter.
Reduced Size and Weight
A new lighter design helps to avoid heavy receivers weighing down your camera or bulky transmitters getting in the way of your talent. The UTX-B40 bodypack transmitter and UTX-P40 plug-on transmitter are both 20% smaller than previous models. The combined URX-P40 receiver/SMAD-P5 adaptor is much shorter than the prior generation, making for a better fit with pro Sony camcorders and digital interchangeable lens cameras.

Our Verdict
Sony has answered the ever greater demands on capturing high quality audio with the UWP-D26 Transmitter and XLR Plug-On Wireless Microphone Package. It offers excellent sound quality with digital processing, reliable RF transmission and true double tuner diversity reception. A range of user-friendly features make an ideal partner for ENG, field productions, as well as documentaries and weddings. The updated design of the bodypack and transmitters are also 20% smaller in this generation, making it easier than ever to record in the field.
It’s easy to set up multiple receivers in combination with one transmitter using NFC along with one-button NFC SYNC for the included transmitters and receivers. Connecting to cameras and video cameras harnesses Sony’s Multi Interface Shoe resulting in higher sound quality with low noise. Other professional features include Auto Gain Mode which utilises a limiter as well as +15 dB boost which resets gain if the ECM-V1BMP omni-directional lavalier microphone isn’t near enough to the subject. All round this wireless system is an excellent solution for solo film makers, vloggers and videographers to capture professional audio with an easy to set up and portable wireless system.

Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.

This product has been thoroughly tested by our team of photographers and we are happy to give a 6 month warranty as a result. The number of tests depends on the individual product but we are confident in this product having tested all the major functions. Anything that isn’t as you would expect, we then make a note of and show this in the condition notes on the page.
