Sony FX3 Camera with FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II Lens Kit Summary
The Sony FX3 Camera with FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II Lens Kit is a pro-level kit, which pairs the compact Sony FX3 full-frame Cinema Line camera with the versatile FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II standard zoom lens, offering the latest tech from a second-gen. GM lens for filmmakers, content creators, and video-first hybrid shooters.
The FX3 features a 12.1MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and is capable of recording 4K video internally at up to 120fps with 10-bit 4:2:2 colour. This professional video camera includes S-Cinetone colour, advanced cooling for unlimited recording, and active image stabilisation for handheld video capture.
The body layout features multiple 1/4-inch thread mounts for accessories without needing to mount the rig into a dedicated cage, while a side grip and vari-angle touchscreen support ergonomic operation. The FX3 also supports Timecode sync, USB streaming, and dual card recording with CFexpress Type A and SD UHS-II compatibility.
Matched with the second-generation 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens, this kit offers a versatile focal range with a constant aperture, that’s ideal for everything from interviews and events to handheld run-and-gun filming. The lens boasts not only G Master optical quality but workhorses characteristics that ensure it remains one of the professional holy trinity of lenses.
This generation has been redesigned by Sony to be lighter and more compact, while retaining exceptional sharpness, improved close focus, and reduced focus breathing, which is of course beneficial for cinematic recording with focus pulls. It also includes an aperture de-click switch, linear response manual focus, and XD linear motors for fast, quiet autofocus.
Together, this kit is a compact yet portable solution for cinematic storytelling, with features drawn from Sony’s professional mirrorless and Cinema Line.
