New for 2025, the Sony 960GB CFexpress 4.0 Type A TOUGH Memory Card is a high-speed, highly reliable memory card for professional video and photography workflows. It offers up to 1800MB/s read and 1700MB/s write speeds, which provides a significant speed advantage over previous CFExpress Type A cards, helping to streamline data transfer while improving overall efficiency on set or in the studio. It meets the demands of 4K 120p video recording and high-resolution stills, and is suitable for hybrid and dedicated video creators who work with cameras like the Sony FX3, FX6, a1 II and a7S III.
The CFexpress Type A format allows for powerful performance in cameras with smaller form factors, and the large 960GB capacity offers extended recording without requiring frequent card changes. VPG400 certification guarantees a minimum sustained write speed of 400MB/s, for reassurance when shooting high-bitrate video in professional environments.
This card also meets Sony’s TOUGH specifications and is able to withstand 10x more bend force than the standard and can survive drops from up to 7.5 metres. It is IP57-rated for dust and moisture resistance, with resilience against temperature extremes, X-rays, electrostatic discharge and UV light. When used together with the MRW-G3 card reader users can monitor card condition via Sony’s Media Scan Utility and recover files with downloadable rescue software if needed.

Health Monitoring and File Recovery
Flash memory degrades over time, but Sony’s Media Scan Utility (used with the MRW-G3) alerts users to card wear before data loss occurs. In the event of accidental deletion or corruption, the downloadable Memory Card File Rescue software helps to recover photos and video files in common formats.

Condition guide
Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.
*All of our used items are listed with the accessories that are included. If they are not listed, then they will not be supplied at the point of purchase.

This product has been thoroughly tested by our team of photographers and we are happy to give a 6 month warranty as a result. The number of tests depends on the individual product but we are confident in this product having tested all the major functions. Anything that isn’t as you would expect, we then make a note of and show this in the condition notes on the page.
