This is the largest in the range, which protects a 105mm front element while cutting UV light, with an easy-clean WR coating and an optimised slimmer frame that retains secure cap attachment.

This one does double duty, as an everyday protection for the front element, plus a UV cut that helps stop the slight blue cast you sometimes get shooting in bright sun. It’s made for outdoor use, where the lens is exposed to dust, fingerprints, water and other marks.
The coating (Sigma calls it WR, for water repellent) also resists oil and fingerprints, while antistatic properties help stop fine dust from clinging on, so it’s less fuss to keep clean. This generation also has revised frame treatment to cut down on internal reflections, without affecting colour or exposure.

Will it vignette on a wide-angle lens?
The new range has been tested across the manufacturer’s own line-up, including ultra-wide models, with no vignetting. Third-party compatibility will depend on the individual lens.

- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.

- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
