Pulsar Symbion LRF DXT50 Multispectral Binoculars Summary

The Pulsar Symbion LRF DXT50 is a premium multispectral binocular, which is designed to deliver the ultimate observation experience. It combines a high-resolution thermal imaging system with a digital day and night channel, advanced laser ranging and comprehensive connectivity in a single magnesium-alloy housing.

A 1280 × 1024 thermal sensor is paired with a 50 mm f1.0 germanium objective, producing a wide, detailed thermal image with detection performance of up to 2,300 metres. Pulsar’s system-level thermal sensitivity, rated below 20 mK sNETD, supports clear separation of fine temperature differences in challenging environments. The digital channel extends usability into daylight and low-light conditions, with smooth switching between observation modes.

This model is suited to users who demand maximum image detail, advanced ranging accuracy and robust field capability for professional observation, wildlife monitoring and land management, where reliability and clarity are critical.

Pulsar Symbion LRF DXT50 Multispectral Binoculars in More Detail

Enhanced observation, day and night

The Symbion LRF DXT50 combines thermal and digital observation within a single optical platform, allowing seamless use across daylight, twilight and full darkness. The thermal channel uses a 1280 × 1024 resolution sensor with a 12 µm pixel pitch, delivering a highly detailed thermal image with a wide horizontal field of view of 17.5 degrees, equivalent to 30.7 metres at 100 metres.

System-level thermal sensitivity below 20 mK improves the visibility of subtle temperature differences, helping fine detail remain visible when observing complex terrain or varied backgrounds. Thermal magnification ranges from 2x to 16x, balancing wide-area scanning with detailed inspection at distance.

The digital channel complements this with magnification from 6.5x to 26x, providing clear observation during daylight and supported low-light conditions. Digital zoom steps of 2x, 4x and 8x allow controlled framing without abrupt changes in view.

Next-generation laser rangefinder

An integrated laser rangefinder is built directly into the optical system, measuring distances up to 1,500 metres with an accuracy of ±1 metre. Range data is overlaid within the display, allowing distance assessment without interrupting observation. The 905 nm laser wavelength supports reliable measurement across varied terrain and lighting conditions, enhancing situational awareness during extended field use.

AMOLED Display

All imagery is presented through a high-resolution AMOLED display with a 1920 × 1080 pixel resolution. AMOLED technology provides deep contrast, stable colour reproduction and consistent brightness across observation modes. Eye relief of 13 mm and dioptre adjustment from -5 to +5 support comfortable use across a wide range of users, even during longer observation sessions.

Image processing and stabilisation

Electronic image stabilisation reduces visible shake during handheld use, particularly when operating at higher magnifications. Multiple sensitivity modes, including Normal, High and Ultra, allow users to adapt thermal response to environmental conditions. Nine colour palettes and a selectable smoothing filter provide further control over image presentation, helping users tailor output to specific observation scenarios.

Recording, connectivity and system integration

The Symbion LRF DXT50 records photos and video internally to its 64 GB built-in memory, with audio capture supported during video recording. USB Type-C connectivity enables data transfer and external power delivery, while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support wireless connectivity and device integration.

Compatibility with Pulsar’s Stream Vision 2 and Stream Vision Ballistics apps enables remote viewing, file management and system configuration via mobile devices, extending functionality beyond the binocular itself.

Power, durability and field readiness

Power is supplied by two APS5 rechargeable batteries, delivering up to around eight hours of operation depending on temperature and usage. External power can be supplied via USB Type-C using 5 V or 9 V power delivery, supporting extended sessions without battery changes.

The magnesium alloy housing provides structural rigidity while keeping weight manageable at approximately 1,000 g. An IP67 protection rating confirms resistance to dust and water immersion, and the unit operates across a wide temperature range from -25 to +50 degrees Celsius. A standard 1/4-inch tripod mount allows stable, hands-free observation when required.
