Pulsar Symbion LRF DXR50 Multispectral Binoculars Summary

The Pulsar Symbion LRF DXR50 is a premium multispectral binocular that combines advanced thermal imaging with 4K digital day and night observation, an integrated long-range laser rangefinder and comprehensive connectivity in a robust magnesium alloy body. This model sits below the Symbion LRF DXT50, trading some thermal resolution for extended magnification range and long-distance detection.

A 640 × 480 thermal sensor with 12 µm pixels and system-level NETD below 18 mK delivers strong contrast and fine thermal detail while scanning wide terrain or distant heat sources. The digital channel offers high-resolution daytime and twilight imaging, alongside night-vision support. The integrated laser rangefinder gauges distance out to 1,500 m with ± 1 m accuracy, overlaid directly within the viewfinder.

This model suits users who want premium thermal performance with extended magnification, long-range detection and feature-rich observation tools for wildlife monitoring, land surveying and professional outdoor use.

Pulsar Symbion LRF DXR50 Multispectral Binoculars in More Detail

Enhanced observation, day and night

The Symbion LRF DXR50 combines thermal and digital observation within a single optical platform, enabling continuous use from daylight into darkness. Its 640 × 480 thermal sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch produces a detailed thermal image, emphasising thermal contrast even in challenging conditions such as fog, rain or high humidity. Thermal magnification spans from 4x up to 32x, allowing both wide area scanning and finer distant inspection.

The digital channel delivers 4K resolution for full-colour imaging by day and high-contrast night views, with adjustable digital zoom in multiple steps for controlled framing. This dual-channel capability supports a smooth transition between detection and observation, covering a broad range of lighting conditions.

Next-generation laser rangefinder

An integrated laser rangefinder provides reliable distance measurement up to 1,500 m with ± 1 m accuracy, with measurement data displayed directly within the viewfinder. This allows distance checks without breaking the observation workflow, which is valuable when monitoring moving subjects or navigating complex terrain.

AMOLED Display

Viewing is presented on a premium AMOLED display with 1920 × 1080 resolution. AMOLED technology offers deep contrast and stable colour reproduction across all viewing modes, helping maintain detail visibility without excessive brightness. Eye relief and dioptre adjustment support comfortable use over extended sessions across a range of users.

Image processing and stabilisation

Electronic image stabilisation reduces visible shake during handheld use, particularly at higher magnifications. Unified image processing maintains consistent contrast and edge definition across thermal palettes and digital views, helping reduce visual fatigue when scanning complex backgrounds.

Recording, connectivity and system integration

The DXR50 supports built-in photo and video capture with audio, stored on 64 GB of internal memory. USB Type-C connection supports data transfer and external power. Wireless connectivity via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enables integration with Pulsar’s mobile apps for remote viewing, control, firmware updates and file management.

Power, durability and field readiness

Power is supplied by APS5 rechargeable batteries, providing extended observation time depending on usage and temperature. The magnesium alloy housing delivers strong structural resistance, with an IP67 rating for dust and water protection and an operating range down to –25 °C up to +50 °C. A tripod mount supports stable hands-off use when required.
