Nikon Z6 III Camera with Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II Lens Kit Summary
The Nikon Z6 III with Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II Lens combines a hybrid full-frame mirrorless camera with Nikon’s updated 24-70mm standard zoom from the S-Line range. The Z6 III is at the centre of Nikon’s mirrorless camera lineup, with a 24.5 megapixel partially stacked CMOS sensor and the EXPEED 7 processor that support fast autofocus, high-speed continuous shooting and advanced video recording, including 6K and oversampled 4K capture.
Included in the Nikon lens kit is the Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II zoom which spans a versatile focal range suitable for landscape, portrait, documentary, events and video content creation. Its constant f/2.8 aperture, revised optical design and improved close focusing performance make it a core lens for photographers and filmmakers who want consistent output across a wide range of subjects.
This Nikon lens kit supports high-end stills and video workflows where versatility, speed and consistent image quality are required from a full-frame hybrid camera and professional lens combination.

Nikon Z6 III Camera with Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II Lens Kit in More Detail
Partially stacked sensor
The Z6 III uses a 24.5 megapixel partially stacked CMOS sensor paired with the EXPEED 7 processor. Faster sensor readout improves responsiveness during continuous shooting, autofocus tracking and viewfinder performance. Nikon maintains a 60fps EVF refresh rate during 20fps burst shooting, allowing uninterrupted subject tracking during fast-moving sequences.
Viewfinder and screen
The electronic viewfinder is a 5,760k-dot panel with up to 4000 nits brightness and DCI-P3 colour support. This provides a bright, high-contrast live view in outdoor conditions and improves colour judgement during on-location review. The 2,100k-dot vari-angle rear screen supports both horizontal and vertical shooting, which is useful when alternating between stills and video work.
Autofocus tracking with subject detection
Autofocus behaviour is derived from Nikon’s higher-end Z bodies, using 3D tracking and subject detection for people, animals, vehicles and aircraft. Eye detection remains active even when subjects occupy a small portion of the frame, which is useful when working across the mid-range focal lengths of the 24-70mm zoom.
Burst capture and pre-release shooting
The Z6 III supports burst shooting up to 120fps with AF and AE using specific capture modes, including 10MP DX-format JPEGs at 120fps and 24MP full-frame JPEGs at 60fps. Pre-release capture records frames before the shutter is fully pressed, helping retain moments where timing is difficult to predict.
Video recording formats
Internal video recording includes 6K/60p RAW, 5.4K/60p (YUV) and oversampled 4K UHD up to 60p. Codec support includes N-RAW, ProRes RAW HQ, ProRes 422 HQ, H.265 and H.264, with 12-bit RAW and 10-bit log options available. Audio support includes line-level input via the microphone port and timecode synchronisation for multi-camera setups.
Stabilisation and focus point VR
The camera features 5-axis in-body stabilisation rated up to 8 stops, with electronic VR available for video. Focus point VR prioritises stabilisation around the active focus area rather than distributing correction evenly across the frame, which is useful when subjects are positioned away from centre at mid-range focal lengths.
Optical design and Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II handling
The Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II uses a revised optical formula compared to the original version, with improved close focusing and refined edge performance. Dual STM motors drive autofocus, supporting quiet operation for video and consistent tracking during continuous shooting.
The lens supports a 82mm front filter thread, allowing standard use of ND and polarising filters without adapters. The 11-blade rounded aperture, and premium lens coatings such as Arneo and Meso-amorphous Coatings, as well as Fluorine, all contribute to the extremely refined image quality.
Size, weight and ergonomics
The Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II weighs 705g. Mounted on the Z6 III body, it forms a balanced setup suitable for long sessions, with weather sealing across both camera and lens for operation down to -10°C.
