Manfrotto ONE Photo Aluminium Tripod Summary
The Manfrotto ONE Photo Aluminium Tripod is a professional photo tripod built around the ONE platform, which Manfrotto has engineered specifically for professional photographers. It is the first photo-dedicated variant in the ONE range and expands the system following the launch of ONE Hybrid models in 2025.
This aluminium tripod supports a safety payload of 12 kg and reaches a maximum height of 164 cm with the column extended, or 140 cm with the column down, while folding to 65.5 cm for storage and transport. It features the recently developed XTEND leg technology and a new structural design that provides greater stiffness and setup speed. Unlike the Hybrid ONE tripods, it removes modular column and levelling components in favour of a streamlined, photo-optimised configuration.
The ONE Photo in aluminium is suitable for photographers who work in the studio and on location using mirrorless camera systems, providing rapid deployment, the flexibility of a horizontal column and stable support for heavier lenses and accessories.
Overview and Key Improvements
The ONE Photo Aluminium Tripod is configured exclusively for stills photography. Compared with the ONE Hybrid, it removes the levelling system and modular column while retaining XTEND leg deployment and the Q90 sliding column mechanism.
Minimum height lowers to 10 cm, enabling ground-level composition not available on Hybrid models. The 60 mm flat upper disc with 3/8 inch thread maintains full head compatibility across the Manfrotto system. The result is a more streamlined photo support with simplified operation and a shorter packed length.
Manfrotto ONE Photo Aluminium Tripod In More Detail
Extending the ONE Tripod Range
The ONE platform began with Hybrid tripods that bridge photo and video applications. ONE Photo refines that architecture specifically for stills photography. It removes the levelling system and XCHANGE interface, simplifying the structure while retaining XTEND leg deployment and the Q90 horizontal column mechanism.
This configuration prioritises setup speed and rigidity for photographers who do not require rapid head interchange systems or video levelling bowls.
XTEND Leg Deployment System
Manfrotto’s XTEND technology allows multiple leg sections to extend simultaneously from a single unlocking action, reducing setup time compared with traditional independent twist locks. The mechanism keeps sections aligned during extension, supporting faster height adjustment on uneven terrain.
The customised non-round leg section increases torsional resistance, limiting unwanted rotation under load. Combined with the aluminium construction, this improves stability when using longer focal lengths or heavier mirrorless cameras.
Structural Design and Rigidity
The upper casting and leg geometry have been revised compared with earlier designs, emphasising stiffness under vertical compression and lateral load. The 12 kg safety payload supports professional equipment without approaching operational limits.
A 60 mm flat upper disc incorporates a 3/8 inch standard thread and integrated bubble level for accurate mounting and alignment. The flat platform maintains compatibility with a broad range of ball heads and three-way heads.
Q90 Sliding Column System
The Q90 mechanism allows instant transition from vertical to horizontal positioning without removing the column, supporting overhead product photography, flat-lay compositions and macro work.
With a minimum height of 10 cm, the tripod enables ground-level perspectives that expand compositional flexibility.
Easy Link Connector
An integrated Easy Link connector with anti-rotation pin allows mounting of accessories such as LED panels or monitors, reducing reliance on additional light stands.
A retractable hook beneath the centre column supports added ballast for increased outdoor stability. Modular rubber and spike feet provide secure placement on indoor floors, gravel, grass or uneven terrain.
