Summary
With its soft Lavender finish and wonderfully simple operation, the Kodak EC35 makes a fun first step into analogue photography. It’s an easy gift for a beginner too, with no menus or settings standing between them and the moments they want to capture.
The 25mm f/10 lens fits plenty into the frame, whether that’s friends, holidays, street scenes or everyday life. Built-in flash helps keep the fun going indoors or later in the day, while winding and rewinding manually adds a little hands-on charm to every roll.
Weighing just 102g, it’s made for bringing along rather than leaving at home. The sliding front cover protects the lens and locks the shutter when closed, ready to open up and start shooting whenever something catches your eye.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it reusable?
Yes. Once you’ve finished and rewound a roll, simply load another.
What film does it take?
Standard 35mm (135), in colour or black and white. ISO 400 is a good all-round choice, while ISO 200 suits brighter conditions.
What do I need to buy separately?
You’ll need 35mm film and one AA alkaline battery, as neither is included. A strap is supplied.
Do I need to focus it?
No. There is no autofocus or manual focusing control, so just keep your subject at least 1.5m away.
When should I use the flash?
Use it indoors or when available light is low. Wind on after each shot to re-arm the shutter and flash.
How do I remove a finished roll?
Rewind it fully into the cassette before opening the back, then remove it for developing and scanning or printing.
