Godox AD400Pro-II 400Ws All-In-One Outdoor Battery Flash Summary
The Godox AD400ProII Outdoor Flash is a powerful, battery-operated studio light designed for photographers who like to shoot both in the studio and on location, and want maximum reliability and flexibility on every shoot. An upgrade to the original AD400Pro, the AD400Pro II flash features faster recycle times (0.01–0.9s), one-tap sync with the Godox X3 Trigger, and an improved high-contrast colour TFT screen allowing you to see your flash settings, even in bright sunlight. With High-Speed Sync up to 1/8000s, outdoor photographers can capture crisp, perfectly lit images at wide apertures, no matter the ambient lighting conditions. The AD400ProII also uses the Godox 2.4GHz Wireless X System for seamless TTL integration across major camera brands, including Canon, Nikon, Sony, FUJIFILM, Panasonic, Olympus, Pentax, and Leica. Compact, portable, and built for versatility, this professional outdoor flash is an essential tool for portrait, fashion, and commercial location photography.
400Ws Of Raw Power With HSS
With 400Ws of output and up to 460 full-power flashes per charge, the AD400ProII delivers sustained, studio-grade performance on location. High-speed sync up to 1/8000 s lets you freeze action and balance flash in bright conditions. Whether you’re shooting high-dynamic sports or ultra-short exposures in daylight, every detail comes through with stunning clarity.
Ultra-Fast Freeze Mode
The Godox AD400ProII outdoor studio flash features a new and exceptional Freeze Mode, enabling you to effortlessly capture action and quick motion. With an ultra-short flash duration, as short as 1/27770 (t0.1) and a quick recycling time as fast as 0.01s, the AD400ProII battery-operated flash light enables you to freeze the fast-moving objects with unrivalled precision. Whether you're freezing a dancer mid-leap or capturing a splash of water, the AD400ProII battery flash light will enable you to produce stunning results with razor-sharpness and crystal clarity.
10-Stop Power Range
The AD400ProII now features a 10-Stop power range, going from 1/1 down to 1/512-power in 1/10-Stop increments. Whether you require a large burst or a tiny kiss of light, the AD400ProII will be up for the task.
30W Bi-Colour Modelling Lamp
The AD400ProII features an integrated 30W bi-colour LED modelling lamp, producing continuous lighting that can be used to preview the look of your image before you take the final shot. It can be manually adjusted anywhere between 10 -100% in brightness and between 2800K and 6000K in colour temperature. Additionally, the AD400Pro II's Modelling lamp features a Proportional (Prop) mode that adjusts the brightness of your modelling lamp in proportion to your flash output settings, which makes previewing lighting ratios more intuitive. With its flicker-free performance, it can also serve as a continuous video light in certain situations.
2.4 GHz Wireless X System
Featuring Godox’s 2.4 GHz Wireless X system, the AD400ProII ensures fast and stable multi-light communication with little fuss. When used with the X3 trigger, its one-tap sync feature instantly connects all fixtures — no manual group or channel setup required. The AD400ProII also works seamlessly with Xpro II, X2T, X1, and other X-series transmitters. For expanded triggering options, the AD400ProII's USB-C port supports the optional FR433 433 MHz receiver, perfect for minimising signal interference.
Group Indicator Lights
The AD400ProII outdoor battery-operated studio flash has now been upgraded to 16 groups. Each group is now represented by a different colour, displayed on both the flash and on the X3 trigger itself. This innovative feature allows you to easily identify which lights are in which group. This makes managing your light groups in multi-light setups an easier, more intuitive experience, while keeping your shoot running smoothly.
Intuitive Colour Display and Controls
The AD400ProII outdoor battery-operated studio flash features a new vibrant TFT full-colour screen, with enhanced brightness and contrast, ensuring optimal visibility, even in challenging lighting scenarios. A single press-and-hold of the modelling lamp button toggles the lamp on or off, putting control at your fingertips and speeding up your workflow
Modifier Compatibility
The AD400ProII features a Godox modifier mount and also includes a Bowens S-Type mount adapter, enabling you to switch between the different types of modifiers, giving you access to a wider range of modifiers from either ecosystem. This enables you to use the more compact, lightweight Godox-fitting modifiers for portability, or the larger Bowens S-Type modifiers when you need a larger modifier for added creative versatility. The Bowens S-Type adapter doesn't block access to the Godox mount, so you can use either mount without needing to worry about having to mess around with adapters.
