DJI Mic Mini 2 Transmitter Summary
The DJI Mic Mini 2 Transmitter is a standalone wireless microphone for use with DJI Mic Mini 2 and compatible DJI audio systems. It provides a lightweight, wearable microphone for expanding an existing kit or replacing a transmitter.
Weighing approximately 11g without the magnetic clip or magnet, it can be worn discreetly for interviews, vlogging and mobile content creation. It records omnidirectional 48kHz 24-bit audio and supports voice tone presets, noise reduction, automatic limiting and safety track recording when paired with a receiver or compatible device.
The transmitter can connect directly to supported DJI devices via OsmoAudio or to smartphones via Bluetooth, allowing flexible recording without requiring a receiver in some workflows.
Overview and Key Improvements
This second-generation transmitter adds expanded audio control with three selectable voice tone presets and two levels of noise reduction, allowing adjustment across different recording environments[4][5]. Automatic limiting is included to reduce clipping when input levels peak, improving reliability during unpredictable recordings[6].
Direct connection support via DJI OsmoAudio enables use with compatible DJI devices without requiring a receiver, simplifying recording with supported Osmo cameras[7].

DJI Mic Mini 2 Transmitter In More Detail
Magnetic Covers
The transmitter includes interchangeable magnetic front covers in Obsidian Black and Glaze White, with additional multi-colour magnetic covers and windscreens available separately[1]. Time Series covers are also available, featuring illustrated designs representing different stages of creativity.
Transmitter Design
The body measures 28.58×28.04×13.52mm and weighs approximately 11g without the magnetic clip or magnet[9]. It supports both clip-on and magnetic attachment using the included accessories. The detachable clip rotates, allowing the microphone to be positioned sideways or inverted while maintaining alignment with the sound source.
Audio Capture
The transmitter records omnidirectional audio with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz and a maximum sound pressure level of 120dB SPL. Equivalent noise is rated at 24dBA. Recording is captured at 48kHz 24-bit when used within a compatible system.
Voice Tone Presets
Three selectable presets adjust tonal output. Regular provides balanced sound, Bright enhances high frequencies, and Rich increases low-frequency presence[4].
Noise Cancellation
Two levels of noise reduction are available. Basic reduces low-level background noise, while Strong reduces higher ambient noise levels[5].
Automatic Limiting
Automatic limiting reduces gain when input levels are too high, preventing clipping during recording[6].
Safety Track
When used with a compatible receiver or app, safety track records a secondary track at -6dB alongside the main track for backup.
Low Cut
Low cut attenuates frequencies below 100Hz to reduce low-frequency noise and is enabled through the DJI Mimo app.
Windscreen
The included windscreen reduces wind noise during outdoor recording. Additional colour options are available separately[1].
OsmoAudio Direct Connection
The transmitter connects directly to supported DJI devices including Osmo Pocket 3, Osmo 360, Osmo Nano and Osmo Action 6 without a receiver[7].
Bluetooth Connection
Bluetooth 5.3 enables direct connection to smartphones for recording and livestreaming in supported third-party apps.
Battery Performance
The transmitter operates for approximately 11.5 hours per charge under standard test conditions[13].
Power Management
Fast charging supports short top-ups, with approximately one hour of use from a five-minute charge[14]. Automatic sleep and power-off functions reduce unnecessary battery drain.
Compatibility
The transmitter works with DJI Mic Mini and Mic Mini 2 receivers, while mobile receiver pairing depends on the selected compatibility mode[3].
