Our Verdict

A combination of aperture design, focal length and magnification ability of this lens make for a very nice macro photography experience without restricting its photographer to solely taking close up images.

A nice bokeh allows this sharp lens to be utilised as an effective portrait lens too. Canon's USM technology is employed to good use, making focusing an altogether fast and quiet experience.

We Love

  • Background blur created by the aperture construction is lovely
  • Using that nice background blur to get some nice portrait shots
  • Getting close up and creative, making the most of the 'life-size' image reproduction
  • Razor sharp, high contrast and detailed results
  • 1:1 lifesize macro reproduction
