NEWS: Nikon has released firmware version 3.00 for the Nikon Z f camera, which brings several useful new features for photographers and videographers.

For stills photography this update adds new film grain options that replicate the look of traditional analogue film, providing new creative looks straight out of camera.
A C15 high-speed frame capture + release mode has also been added, giving users even more flexibility when shooting fast-moving subjects.
The same film grain options are now available for video recording, and Hi-Res Zoom has been improved to show a focus point when a subject is detected, helping ensure sharp results during filming.
In playback, the record camera orientation function has been expanded to include separate options for stills and videos, including time-lapse sequences, offering more precise control when reviewing and editing your files.

This is a free firmware update and is available to download now from Nikon’s official website.
