Canon PowerShot G7 X III Gets Limited Edition

NEWS: 5th February 2026

Canon has announced a limited edition of one of its most highly sought-after compact cameras, with the PowerShot G7 X III Graphite Anniversary Edition launching on 5th February 2026, priced at £3859.00.

Released to celebrate 30 years since the first PowerShot camera, which was Canon’s first digital camera the “PowerShot 600,” this version celebrates a line that continues to fly off the shelves whenever it is available.

The G7 X III has a garnered a reputation as a compact that delivers very high image quality, is a truly pocketable size and offer straightforward video capabilities. Rather than replacing the regular model, Canon has released a purely a cosmetic edition, while keeping everything users already know and love exactly the same.

How is the G7 X III Anniversary Edition different?

Canon has kept this release to cosmetic changes, and the Graphite Anniversary Edition includes design changes that distinguish it from the standard model.

What’s different

  • The camera features a graphite-coloured body finish that is exclusive to this release
  • A commemorative PowerShot 30 years anniversary logo features on the body
  • The front control ring has a twill-patterned texture instead of the smooth finish found on the standard G7 X III

What’s the same

Other than the changes listed above, everything remains the same:

  • Image quality, resolution and processing are all identical to the standard camera
  • Video features, including Canon’s vlog shooting mode, are unchanged
  • The fixed zoom lens, sensor, controls and menu system behave exactly the same
  • Existing accessories and batteries remain fully compatible

Why is the G7 X III so popular in 2026?

Despite launching back in August 2019, the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III is still hugely popular with a variety of users. At a time when most compact cameras have fallen by the wayside, some, like the G7 X III have remained culturally relevant and it offers a desirable alternative to smartphones and interchangeable-lens cameras.

Canon compact cameras are ideal for anyone who wants better image quality with more ergonomic handling than a phone, without the size or learning curve of a mirrorless camera. The G7 X III checks all of these boxes and some, combining a larger sensor with a built-in zoom lens in a body that is fits into your pocket.

It has also stayed popular with vloggers and holidaymakers, where ease-of-use and portability still set the trend. The camera’s all-in-one design makes image-making more fun, and is straightforward for anyone who enjoys the convenience for everyday use.

Who is the limited edition for?

The Graphite Anniversary Edition is perfect for people who already appreciate the PowerShot G7 X III range and are not looking for a new experience or updated capabilities.

For existing G7 X III users and Powershot fans, this limited edition camera provides a way to own the latest model, but in a unique finish that celebrates Canon’s digital camera history.

It will also appeal to collectors and long-term Canon users who value this lineage, especially with the anniversary branding and limited production, which give this version a distinct place in Canon’s illustrious story.

Lastly, this edition is a great choice for buyers who were already considering a G7 X III and simply prefer the look of the graphite colour. If the choice comes down to design alone, I’d quite like the graphite one myself.
