To help you get the best out of your camera gear, we’ve teamed up with Sony UK to offer a series of sessions on a variety of different product ranges.

In small virtual groups, you’ll be able to gain a deeper understanding about the equipment you own, and learn how you can get the best out of it.

This session is focused around the full-frame series of Sony interchangeable lenses designed for shooting stills.

Whether you’re looking to shoot more ambitious projects, or simply want to learn how to get the best out of your camera, this would be an ideal session to attend. If you own a Full-Frame camera (such as an, a7 III, a7R III, a7R IV or the new a7C), upon joining this session a technical expert from Sony UK will be able to help you take your photography to the next level. This session is also suitable if you don’t yet own a Sony body, but are considering it.

Each session will last for approximately 60-minutes, and will be limited to just 12 people per session. Each session is designed to be in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and will be performed virtually via Zoom.

When booking your place, within the order form there is an option to include any specific questions you might have. We can pass this onto Sony prior to your session in order to help you get the most out the session as possible.

The importance of good lens choice

Park Cameras Events - Sony week - The importance of good lens choice

Join Sony Europe Imaging Ambassador Terry Donnelly in this virtual session, as he discusses how different lenses offer different characterises, and how he chooses which lens to use for the situation.

Whilst on assignment with the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Service, Terry used a number of lenses and each had their merits in a particular moment and situation. A common question Terry receives over and over is why he chooses one lens over another.

During this 60-minute live session, Terry will share insights into his project when he spent 3 days working with the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service, to capture images of the pilots and paramedics going about their daily duties, with the aim to provide a unique insight into the lifesaving critical care service they deliver.

Terry will also be looking to raise the veil and offer an understanding as to why one lens is chosen in a particular instance over another, and an explanation of lens characteristics which attendees should be able to use to improve their own lens choice in the future in their own photography.

Throughout the session there will be plenty of opportunity to ask any questions which Terry will do his best to answer.

About Terry Donnelly:

Terry is a UK based photographer who has had a love for photography since childhood. His career path took him away from his passion until 2006 when he became a working photographer. The two genres of photography Terry enjoys most are environmental portraiture and sports photography. He is the holder of three Fellowships and a Masters in photography, including a Fellowship with the Royal Photographic Society FRPS and has had work exhibited in over 25 countries.

Find out more about Terry and see some of his work at terrydonnelly.co.uk.
