Join photographer and slime mould expert Glenn Alder for this special event held at Park Cameras in Burgess Hill on Thursday 12th November, where you can learn how to capture these extraordinary organisms.
Throughout this 2-hour session (various times available), with advice from Glenn, you’ll be about to discover how to turn tiny woodland discoveries into striking macro images with practical, real-world techniques.
Glenn will discuss the ideal settings for macro and focus-stacked images as well as offering techniques for finding and photographing slime moulds in the field.
Within the session, an expert from OM SYSTEM UK will be on hand also offering advice on how you can get fantastic up-close results, using their range of cameras and lenses.
Whether you're just starting out in macro photography or looking to explore a new subject, this session will help you see the miniature world in a whole new way.
This event is held in association with OM SYSTEM where existing users are welcome to bring their own kit although you are welcome to try out a variety of different cameras and lenses throughout the session. If you’re not a current OM SYSTEM user but are considering the switch, this is a fantastic opportunity to try out a range of cameras and lenses, along with expert advice from a technical expert from OM SYSTEM UK. Don’t forget to bring an SD memory card for any images you may wish to keep!
This session is limited to just 6 delegates.

About Glenn Alder:
Glenn’s interests in photography started when he was a biology degree student in London in the late 70’s. Over the years he has maintained this interest, gravitating towards nature in particular focusing on animals, plants and fungi.
In recent years the interest in the photography of fungi has become his point of focus. He saw these amazing creations and became drawn towards the smaller bits which eventually led to the world of slime moulds. Slime moulds are generally small almost unseen structures - so small that getting photographs can be challenging. Glenn came across the OM system range, as something that allowed him to actually photograph these tiny subjects without having to use specialised equipment. Suddenly he had the tools to visualise this minute world. Glenn’s aim is to share his passion with other photographers.
For an insight as to what to expect when photographing slime moulds, watch this video where Richard from OM System speaks to Glenn Alder about the fascinating world of slime moulds and the art of photographing these extraordinary organisms.
