Sennheiser HD 480 PRO Studio Headphones
The Sennheiser HD 480 PRO Studio Headphones are closed-back headphones for recording and monitoring with a 38mm dynamic driver, 130 Ω impedance and vibration control for accurate, isolated listening in studio and mobile workflows.
Sennheiser HD 480 PRO Studio Headphones Summary
The HD 480 PRO closed-back studio headphones are for recording, tracking and monitoring. They sit within Sennheiser’s professional range, focusing on controlled, accurate playback in both studio and mobile setups.
A 38 mm dynamic transducer and 130 Ω impedance support consistent monitoring across interfaces and studio equipment. The closed acoustic design reduces external noise and limits sound leakage, maintaining signal clarity during recording.
These headphones suit producers, engineers and creators who need reliable reference sound without open-back spill. The lightweight structure and replaceable pads support extended sessions, while detachable cabling allows replacement and integration across different setups. A supplied headphone bag is ideal for transport between locations.

Sennheiser HD 480 PRO Studio Headphones In More Detail
Closed acoustic design
The closed-back construction reduces ambient noise and limits sound leakage into microphones during recording. This supports accurate monitoring in shared studio environments and when tracking vocals or instruments.
Vibration Attenuation System
A dedicated vibration control system reduces unwanted resonance and reflected sound within the earcup. This helps maintain clarity, particularly in low-frequency reproduction, where distortion can affect mix decisions.
38 mm dynamic transducer
A full-range dynamic driver handles signal reproduction across the audible spectrum. The system maintains consistent output with low distortion, supporting detailed monitoring of both subtle and complex audio elements.
Frequency response
A wide transmission range from 3 Hz to 28,700 Hz captures low-end detail and high-frequency information. This allows engineers to identify balance issues and make adjustments with greater confidence during mixing.
Impedance and signal compatibility
At 130 Ω, the headphones are suited to audio interfaces, mixers and dedicated headphone outputs. This ensures stable performance without requiring excessive amplification in most studio setups.
Ergonomic fit system
The headband and earcup structure distribute pressure evenly across the head. This reduces fatigue during long sessions while maintaining a consistent seal for accurate monitoring.
Cable and connectivity
A detachable 3 metre coiled cable allows movement within studio spaces without excess slack. Dual-sided connection points support different routing preferences depending on setup.
Serviceable
Replaceable ear pads and durable components allow maintenance over time. This supports long-term use in professional environments where equipment is used frequently.
Frequently Asked Questions
