Pixfra Draco D335-4K Multispectral Binoculars Summary

The Pixfra Draco D335-4K is a mid-range multispectral binocular, offering increased thermal resolution and extended detection capability over the base D225-4K model, while retaining a compact handheld format. It uses a 384 × 288 thermal sensor alongside a 4K digital night vision channel for daytime and low-light observation.

Thermal imaging operates with a NETD sensitivity below 15 mK, improving separation between fine temperature differences in complex environments such as dense vegetation or uneven terrain. A 35 mm thermal objective increases base magnification and detection reach, while the digital channel records and displays 4K footage with automatic switching between day and night modes. Integrated laser ranging measures distances up to 1,000 metres directly within the viewfinder.

This model suits users who require greater thermal detail and longer detection range for wildlife observation, land management and extended outdoor monitoring, without moving into larger, heavier multispectral systems.

Pixfra Draco D335-4K Multispectral Binoculars in More Detail

Multispectral viewing

The Draco D335-4K builds on the core multispectral design of the Draco series by increasing thermal resolution to 384 × 288. This provides a denser thermal image, which improves subject definition when scanning mixed environments such as woodland edges, open fields or varied ground cover. Thermal sensitivity below 15 mK further enhances contrast between objects with similar surface temperatures, helping smaller details stand out during observation.

The 35 mm thermal objective increases base thermal magnification to 4.2x and supports digital zoom up to 33.6x. Combined with a stated detection range of up to 1,800 metres, this allows broader scanning at distance while retaining usable detail at closer ranges.

Digital night vision and low-light use

The digital channel uses a 3840 × 2160 CMOS sensor for night vision and daytime viewing. Base digital magnification starts at 5.5x and extends up to 44x digitally, with a wide field of view measuring 35.3 metres at 100 metres. Automatic switching between day and night modes reduces manual intervention as light levels change, particularly during dusk or early morning observation.

A detachable IR illuminator is supplied with both 850 nm and 940 nm emitters, allowing users to balance illumination strength and visibility depending on conditions and operational requirements.

OLED Display

All viewing modes are presented through a 0.49-inch OLED display with a 1920 × 1080 resolution. The display maintains consistent brightness and contrast across thermal palettes and digital views, helping detail remain visible without excessive glare. Image processing, including PIPS 3.0, applies scene optimisation and colour handling to maintain edge definition and contrast when scanning complex backgrounds.

Laser ranging

A built-in laser rangefinder measures distances up to 1,000 metres and overlays range information directly within the viewfinder. This allows distance assessment without interrupting observation and can be used alongside both thermal and digital viewing modes when tracking movement or surveying wider areas.

Handling and field operation

At 195 × 130.6 × 61.7 mm, the D335-4K retains the same compact body size as the D225-4K, despite its higher-resolution thermal system. Electronic image stabilisation reduces visible shake during handheld use, particularly at higher digital magnifications. Control placement supports one-handed operation, with tactile buttons that can be identified without taking the binoculars away from the eye.

Power is supplied by two replaceable 18650 batteries, with up to around nine hours of operation depending on temperature, viewing mode and recording use. Spare batteries can be swapped in the field, and the unit supports charging from mains power and portable power banks for extended sessions.

Zoom control is handled via a multi-function control wheel positioned for index finger operation, allowing smooth zoom adjustment without changing grip. A four-button layout provides access to core functions, with silent button operation and controls that can be located and used by touch in low-light conditions.

Recording and connectivity

Video and still images are recorded internally, with footage reflecting the active viewing mode. Wi-Fi connectivity supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, enabling wireless transfer and remote viewing on compatible mobile devices when required.
