Leica Vario Eyepiece 20x-60x Summary

The Leica Vario Eyepiece 20x-60x is a high-quality zoom eyepiece compatible with all Leica APO-Televid and Televid HD spotting scopes. The eyepiece is compact, lightweight and weather-sealed, and provides a broad magnification range with high levels of detail and excellent viewing comfort. It attaches via Leica’s bayonet system for quick and secure connection when working in the field.

With a variable 20x to 60x zoom, this eyepiece enables detailed long-range viewing, which is ideal for nature observation, digiscoping and field studies. The exit pupil is bright across the zoom range, and the optical design provides sharp viewing right to the edge of the field. Leica Vario Eyepiece 20x-60x in More Detail

The Leica Vario Eyepiece 20x-60x provides a versatile zoom range, enabling close and detailed observation of distant subjects. When mounted to a Televid 65 scope, it provides a 3.25mm exit pupil at 20x magnification and 1.1mm at 60x, delivering a bright and usable image across the zoom range. With the larger Televid 82, exit pupil size increases slightly, enhancing low-light usability.

The field of view ranges from 35m to 20m at 1,000m (when used with a 65mm scope), for excellent situational awareness and making it easier to track movement. The subjective angle of view spans 37° to 65°, with sharp edges and minimal distortion.

The eyepiece features a twist-up eyecup and ample eye relief, making it suitable for eyeglass wearers. Its compact size and weight add minimal weight to the spotting scope system, while full waterproofing to 4 metres ensures performance in rain, mist or snow.

Whether used for birding, digiscoping, or professional applications, the Leica 20x-60x Vario Eyepiece is a worthwhile addition to any Televid scope.
