Canon EOS R8 Camera with RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 STM Lens Summary
Canon is extending the range of full-frame camera options for hybrid content creators with the addition of the Canon EOS R8 Mirrorless Camera Body. It weighs just 461g, making it the smallest and lightest full-frame EOS R mirrorless camera available, despite packing the same 24.2 megapixel sensor and powerful DIGIC X processor found in the highly regarded EOS R6 II.
With these powerful core components, the R8 delivers accomplished stills and video performance, drawing technology from previous cameras, whilst adding the latest features to help you capture unique content. Features include the first-rate Dual Pixel CMOS II AF with subject detection, high-speed burst shooting at up to 40fps and a wealth of photo and video modes to capture diverse content for your audience.
Video can be recorded for longer than 30 minutes, with built-in tools such as False Colour to gain accurate exposure, while recording oversampled 4K/60p in C-Log 3 for versatile colour grading in post production. Ergonomics has also been considered, with the addition of a hybrid-ready photo / video mode switch, bright 3.0" LCD screen and crystal clear, fast refreshing EVF. For newcomers to Canon’s mirrorless system, the EOS R8 includes the helpful Guided User Interface, which helps you to master camera settings while you progress.
The 24-105 focal range is extremely popular due to its’ versatility, being well suited to any number of subjects including landscape, portraits, travel, weddings and just about any event you can bring it to. Weighing in at just 395g and being 89mm short when stowed, this is without a doubt a lens photographers can take virtually anywhere. Compact size is a theme with Canon’s latest range of mirrorless lenses, with the previously announced RF 70-200mm f/2.8L also boasting a notably compact size for a workhorse telephoto length.
The already versatile zoom range of the RF 24-105mm also has a welcome trick up its’ sleeve, being aptly capable of 1:2 macro images with a close focus of just 13cm. This opens up new creative possibilities and positions this as one of the most flexible mirrorless RF-mount lenses available today. For steadier hand holding this lens includes 5-stop stabilisation and can acquire focus and track subjects quickly and quietly with the tried and tested STM motor. The RF 24 to 105 mm f/4 to 7.1 IS STM is an easy lens to shoot with when you want to cover a broad variety of subjects. It spans a versatile ultra-wide angle at 24 mm through to a short telephoto at 105 mm, which suits a variety of subjects. These include landscapes, portraits and everyday snapshots all without needing to change lenses. Built-in stabilisation is ideal when shooting in lower light or for handheld content creation, and the STM motor provides quiet focus transitions. Close focus capability is also handy, letting you capture small details at half life-size.

Canon’s EOS R8 features a proven 24.2 megapixel full frame sensor that produces clean, detailed results in a variety of lighting. It also shares the DIGIC X processor, which is ideal for noise control at higher ISO settings, and provides a responsive shooting experience with excellent results.
Canon’s autofocus system is one of the latest gens. of the well-known Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, which recognises and tracks people, animals and vehicles.
For fast subjects users gain 40 frames per second burst in electronic shutter mode, which is ideal for sports and action, or any faster moving subjects. Video benefits from oversampling, with 4K footage using the full width of the sensor, which produces beautiful video results. Full HD slow motion is also available, which adds a compelling option for your audience.
The body is a compact and portable size for a full frame camera, and the weight makes it easier to bring for all day casual shoots. A fully articulating screen offers flexible angles for video or low angle shooting, while the electronic viewfinder is clear for composing and review.

Condition guide
Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.

The number of tests depends on the individual product but we are confident in this product having tested all the major functions.
