Photo modes and image quality

Where the Insta360 GO 3 captures insta360’s proprietary INSP image format, the newer Ace Pro adopts more widespread JPEG format, as well as RAW for editing after the event. If you wonder why shoot in RAW Vs JPEG, it’s because it gives you far greater control if you do ever edit your images.

The larger sensor in the Ace Pro also gathers more light than previous cameras, with a wide ISO range of 100-6400, which is more than enough for great results during sunsets and even blue hour shots.

The variety of photo modes allow you to capture compelling content, B-roll and simply beautiful photos to share, with interval, burst and starlapse giving you the edge over some comparable models.

Similarly the range of video modes provide an excellent starting point to capture great content in video formats, which also has built-in Active HDR to capture more highlight and shadow detail in your movies.

Pro camera quality on and off piste!

Photo resolution is impressive, with a choice between four sizes catering to any needs:

  • 48MP (8064x6048)
  • 36MP (8064x4536)
  • 12MP (4032x3024)
  • 9MP (4032x2264)

Insta360 app

Insta360 on Google Play and Apple supports the Insta360 Ace Pro camera, with background downloading, integration for Garmin devices and Apple Watch. It also captures data like GPS, speed, and other stats, which can be displayed in the video and is highly rated by 1000s of users.

Insta360 has stopped us in our tracks with the launch of the Ace Pro, which is lightweight, versatile, offers 8K recording for the first time in an action camera, as well as being incredibly durable and tough. You can vlog easily with the 2.4-inch flip screen, capture video in numerous formats, record compelling timelapse and other content, and image quality is amazing, thanks to a partnership with legendary Leica.
