Both have the same compact folding design, flight times, and offer roughly the same piloting experience. The differences are in the camera as the X1 has a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor compared to the 1/2-inch sensor in the Lito 1, which affects low-light performance and how detailed images and video appear. It also adds HDR video and 10-bit D-Log M, which gives more room for grading footage.

Both have vision-based sensing too, but the X1 adds forward-facing LiDAR, which improves obstacle avoidance in complex environments, and is especially useful when flying in low light.

Storage is another notable difference, as the entry-level Lito 1 requires a microSD card for data, whereas the X1 includes 42GB of internal storage, which is enough capacity to capture modest amounts of content without needing a memory card at all.

With the comparison made, choosing between these two models comes down to how you intend to create content, which we cover next, after exploring the X1 Combos.

Lito X1 What’s in the Box Combo Comparison

The main differences between these combos are the controller and the number and type of batteries included. The range-topping Lito X1 Fly More Combo Plus (DJI RC 2) includes three higher-capacity batteries that enable flights of up to 52 minutes each, which is impressive for a palm-sized drone.

What can you do with this drone?

Both Lito drone models are aimed at new pilots and aspiring aerial content creators. You can capture 4K video up to 60fps and 48MP photos, with a 3-axis gimbal to ensure smooth footage.

DJI has included a wide variety of intelligent modes that look after aircraft movement to capture portraits, close-ups, or landscapes. There are pre-set paths, really effective subject tracking and orbit-style shots, which means even beginners will be able to capture engaging video from the get-go.

If you shoot for different channels, don’t forget that the range allows for 2.7K vertical recording straight out of the box.

Are these drones good for beginners?

Yes. DJI Lito and Lito X1 are beginner drones. Absolute beginners can train on the DJI Simulator if needed, reducing flight anxiety so you can fly with ease after a few practice attempts. Safety features like advanced RTH (Return to Home) with obstacle sensing reduce the risk of collisions.

Both models are simple to fly and will allow you to improve your aerial skills while taking your content to new heights and impressing your audience with immersive video. The Lito X1 is more of a premium camera drone for beginners, and with LiDAR and similar advanced features built in, it lets you take off and create like a pro from day one without a steep learning curve.

Which Lito version should you choose?

Choosing between these comes down to how often you plan to fly and which capabilities you want from day one. The drone itself is the same for each model, so it’s about batteries, charging and how portable you need to be.

Below are some guidelines to help you decide.

Drone Only

Includes the drone, DJI RC-N3 controller and a single regular flight battery with . This is fine for occasional flights, short trips, practice flights and learning the basics without wanting extra batteries straight away.

Fly More Combo

Adds two extra batteries, a charging hub and a carry bag. This is better suited to more frequent day trips, travel and multiple flights in one trip. Instead of stopping after 20 to 30 minutes, you can swap batteries and continue exploring the skies, scoping shots and capturing unique moments.

Fly More Combo Plus (X1 only)

Includes Intelligent Flight Battery Plus units, which extend flight time to around 52 minutes per battery. This is useful for longer, uninterrupted flights, such as capturing broader locations, capturing multiple takes, waiting for light to change, or covering large areas without returning to swap batteries.

For most people, the Fly More Combo will be the most appealing option, especially if you expect to fly more than once per outing. Getting the Drone Only is of course the most cost effective and simple, while the Combo Plus is the best choice if longer flight time is your priority.

How does Lito X1 compare to DJI Mini 3?

Lito X1 improves on the DJI Mini 3 in several ways, with updates to imaging, sensing and usability. The biggest upgrade is the camera with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and 4K/60fps HDR video at up to 14 stops DR, along with slow motion up to 4K/100fps and 2.7K vertical recording.

Obstacle sensing is more advanced thanks to forward-facing LiDAR, and tracking has been refined as well. ActiveTrack is more stable and responsive, making it easier to follow moving subjects automatically.

The 42GB built-in memory allows you to record without a microSD card, and the newer drone supports faster file transfers as well as improved flight times of up to 36 minutes with the standard battery, or up to 52 minutes with the Battery Plus.

Lastly, the DJI O4 transmission system improves signal stability and range, particularly in areas with more interference, resulting in clearer more reliable live view.

Should you Choose the DJI Lito 1 or Lito X1?

The DJI Lito 1 and Lito X1 are very similar beginner-friendly drones. They both fold up and have similar flight performance, intelligent content modes and handling, but as noted earlier, there are a few key differences in the cameras and sensing technology.

Choose the Lito 1 if you’re on a strict budget or simply want to dip your toe into aerial content creation before committing. It captures decent 4K/60fps video from a slightly narrower 26.2 mm camera, and although there’s no internal storage, you can budget for a microSD card.

The Lito X1 has a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor and f/1.7 lens with up to 14 stops of dynamic range in HDR mode. These improve low-light results, which you’ll likely notice when shooting during sunset, in contrasty areas or in low lighting.

Forward-facing LiDAR will give you greater confidence for obstacle detection in complex environments or low light, while the 42GB of internal storage means you can start using the drone straight away without needing a microSD card, which can be harder to source and more expensive at the moment due to reduced availability.
