Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro Price Drop

News October 6, 2022 Blackmagic Design announces a new lower price for ATEM Mini Pro live production switchers. You can now save on the ATEM Mini Pro and the ATEM Mini Pro ISO for professional and versatile streaming from virtually anywhere.

Professional live streaming productions and more

The price reductions have been made possible by manufacturing efficiencies and will help to make broadcast quality live production more affordable for everyone. With built in recording, streaming and multi-view monitoring, the ATEM Mini Pro models have been one of the best ways to create high-quality multi camera live productions for streaming worldwide to platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitch TV and more. With these new lower prices, ATEM Mini Pro replaces ATEM Mini as a more powerful entry model in the ATEM Mini family of live production switchers.

Whichever type of live content you create, ATEM Mini switchers make it easier to create more professional multi-camera productions for live streaming to YouTube and business presentations using Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Skype.

Connect ATEM Mini and creators can live switch up to four high quality video camera inputs, which creates substantially better image quality. You can also connect a computer for PowerPoint slides or gaming consoles. The built in DVE lets you create picture in picture effects, perfect for commentary or during interviews and discussion points.

There are plenty of video effects too and ATEM Mini has a built in hardware streaming engine for live streaming via ethernet, or via USB, which also works in the same way as a webcam. You’ll also find HDMI-out for projectors. Audio is also catered for with microphone inputs, which enable you to connect high quality desktop and lapel mics for interviews, presentations and more.

Easy to use interface

Using BlackMagic switchers for live streaming is easy, as ATEM Mini’s compact all-in-one design includes a control panel as well as connections. The front panel features easy-to-use intuitive buttons for selecting sources, video effects and transitions. Source buttons are also large enough for you to activate by feel, perfect for solo productions.

Dedicated audio mixing buttons, record and streaming control buttons, as well as output selection buttons let you change the video output between cameras, program and multi-view. On the rear panel there are HDMI connections for cameras or computers or even gaming consoles, extra microphone inputs, USB for webcam out plus an HDMI "aux" output for program video.

Live streaming without a computer

ATEM Mini has a built in hardware streaming engine for live streaming via Ethernet connection without the need for a computer, which means you can live stream to YouTube, Facebook and Twitch in better quality, without frames dropping and with simpler settings.

Start by selecting the streaming service and enter the streaming key. There are palettes in ATEM Software Control for streaming setup and you can monitor everything with streaming status, which is also displayed in the multi-view.

Streaming status is easy to understand with a data rate indicator showing the internet speed required for the video format you are using. More advanced users can also update the streaming profiles in an XML file to load new services which are not preinstalled.

Mobile phone live streams

For on-location streaming, ATEM Mini supports Apple or Android smartphone connection via the USB port and mobile tethering using mobile data, which is also a useful backup for the main Ethernet connection. Phone tethering works with high-speed 5G phones and commonly found 4G phones.

ATEM Mini will automatically detect when a phone is connected to the USB port and switch its internet connection, eliminating the need for you to change any settings. When connected, the phone will even draw power from the USB port, staying charged during use. By using phone tethering and mobile data, ATEM Mini switchers become the perfect mobile production solution.

Record streams to upload onto Youtube and Vimeo

ATEM Mini Pro supports direct streaming data recording to USB disks, which means you can get far longer recording times in H.264 files with AAC audio. These files can then be quickly uploaded to online video sites, including YouTube and Vimeo. Record settings and disk selection are set up in ATEM Software Control and there's a record status view in the built-in multi-view.

Multicamera productions

All ATEM Mini models include a professional multi-view that lets customers see all video inputs, preview and program on a single HDMI television or monitor. Each camera view includes tally indicators so customers know when each source is on-air, and each view also has custom labels and audio meters. The multi-view even allows customers to monitor critical statuses for recording, streaming and the audio mixer.

DaVinci Resolve compatibility

Blackmagic’s ISO models save a DaVinci Resolve project file, in order to open live production files as a video edit, which includes all cuts, dissolves and media pool graphics to fine tune edit points or completely replace shots. DaVinci Resolve Sync Bin is very easy to use for advanced editing and you can even relink to Blackmagic RAW camera files for professional colour grading and refining in Ultra HD.
