Manfrotto ONE Aluminium Tripod with 500X Fluid Head Summary

The Manfrotto ONE Aluminium Tripod with 500X Fluid Head is an all-in-one solution for hybrid content creators who capture both stills and video with a mirrorless system. This kit combines the versatile aluminium ONE tripod legs with the control of the 500X fluid head, bringing a number of benefits for solo filmmakers, photographers and content creators who switch between styles without the need to change equipment.

The aluminium tripod from Manfrotto features newly developed non-round leg profiles, which provides greater torsional stability during panning movements, while keeping the classic rigidity which is needed for stills photography to avoid camera shake The XTEND leg mechanism allows for quick, one-handed deployment of all sections simultaneously, while a multi-function centre column provides horizontal, vertical, low-angle, and levelling movements in one.

The included 500X Fluid Head, provides the benefit of smooth pan and tilt action, a portrait orientation mode for vertical content, and a counterbalance system for mirrorless camera setups. The head is mounted via a 60mm flat base Xchange system, which also delivers quick swaps between accessories without the need for any tools.

Whether you capture an interview, top-down product videos, portraits or reels, this system is highly capable and ready to meet your demands. It is perfect for creators who need one support that works in any situation, with professional-level performance without the weight of two separate tripod systems.

Manfrotto ONE Aluminium Tripod with 500X Fluid Head in More Detail

Newly Designed Non-Round Aluminium Legs for Hybrid Stability

The ONE Aluminium Tripod introduces a new non-round leg design, which has been extensively refined through user testing with hybrid creators. This leg shape increases torsional rigidity, which provides greater stability for both stills photos and smooth video pans.

The new shape is combined with a durable aluminium construction, in order to deliver a solid base with reduced flex compared to standard round tripod leg tubes. Each section extends via ergonomic twist locks and features modular feet, that can be swapped when shooting on different terrain. The legs weigh 3.4kg and support a maximum payload of 15kg.

Versatile 4-in-1 Centre Column

At the heart of the tripod is a modular centre column, which provides four functions in one compact design. The Levelling Column enables fine horizontal adjustments without shifting the legs, which is ideal for video and working on uneven ground. The Q90 Mechanism allows the column to flip to a horizontal position, which is especially useful for flat-lay and overhead shots. The Sliding Column provides quick vertical movements to adjust the height, and the entire column can be removed or extended for ultra-low or high-angle setups.

Quick to Setup and Adjust

Manfrotto’s XTEND system enables all leg sections to deploy simultaneously in one easy motion. This significantly reduces setup time and makes height changes easier and quicker in the field. A new Angle Selector lets users independently lock each leg at multiple angles, which provides yet more flexibility for shooting awkward or creative compositions.

Modular and Expandable

Manfrotto has added accessory support via a built-in Easy Link Mount, which allows users to add arms, lights, or monitors directly to the tripod without extra brackets. A carrying handle is also planned for future releases, which is aimed at improving mobility when moving between locations.

Designed for Creators

From overhead product shots to eye-level interviews or low-angle video, the modular design of the ONE Aluminium Tripod can adapt to suit hybrid creators’ needs without switching between different tripods. The ergonomic design, and clever features make it a highly versatile platform for anyone from a solo hybrid creator to production team members.

Manfrotto 500X Fluid Head Precision Fluid Movement

The 500X head offers fluid drag on both pan and tilt axes, delivering steady, controlled movement that is suitable for cinematic filming. The drag level is fixed, in order to provide consistent resistance when tracking subjects or adjusting framing.

Portrait and Landscape Support

A patent-pending portrait axis allows camera orientation to be rotated from landscape to portrait without any need to remount the setup. This is increasingly useful for content created for vertical social platforms, allowing vertical video with re-framing.

Counterbalance System

A 0-2.4kg counterbalance system helps keep rigs stable during tilt, especially those with a centre of gravity around 55mm. This makes the 500X particularly well-suited to mirrorless setups with cages, monitors, or external mics.

Xchange Flat Base

An integrated 60mm base with Xchange technology allows the head to be quickly removed or swapped between compatible systems without any tools. This saves time when switching between tripods, sliders and other supports.

Quick Release and Rugged Build

The 501PL sliding plate allows for forward/backward adjustment to adjust balance. A side lock top attachment and both pan and tilt brakes ensure reliable support. The head weighs around 1.22kg and includes a 3/8” threaded base for broad compatibility.
