The EL-1 (Version 2) provides a guide number of 58 (ISO 100 at 200mm), enabling bright lighting across a wide area or for more distant subjects. An active internal fan enables extended operation without overheating, while the sealed construction provides a similar level of dust and water resistance as Canon’s L-Series lenses, which is ideal for location shoots.
A built-in LED modelling light helps when previewing how shadows and highlights will fall, with adjustable brightness and colour temperature. Manual output can be adjusted from full power down to 1/8192, which supports subtle fill lighting and advanced creative control. Wireless control is available via optical or radio triggering, with full support for multi-flash setups.

Fast Recycling and Burst Shooting
The EL-1 (Version 2) Speedlite can recycle between shots in as little as 0.1 seconds, while supporting up to 170 full-power flashes in a single burst. This responsiveness can be consistently maintained thanks to the dedicated LP-EL battery and active internal cooling.
High Capacity Battery System
The LP-EL battery provides reliable power, with up to 340 full-power discharges per charge. The flash displays an accurate battery level on the rear panel too, which helps to avoid downtime during critical moments.
The LP-EL can be recharged using a Canon LC-E6 battery charger. It can be charged to full capacity in approx. 2 hours 10 minutes and has a life of at least 300 charge/discharge cycles.
Lighting Control
Manual flash output is adjustable from full down to 1/8192 power. This wide range allows for subtle fill light or precise control in multi-light setups. Flash Exposure (FE) memory enables users to capture a test exposure in E-TTL mode, then lock in the output for consistent manual use, reducing exposure shifts caused by changes in scene or composition.
Built-In LED Modelling Light
A dual LED lamp in the flash head previews light direction and shadow placement before the shutter is released. It offers five levels of brightness and five colour temperature presets. The modelling lamp can also act as an AF assist beam in dark conditions and can be switched on from the flash body or shutter button.
Wireless and Multi-Flash Functionality
The Canon EL-1 (Version 2) supports both radio and optical triggering, which makes it easy to integrate with existing Canon Speedlite setups. It can be used as a standalone unit, master controller or remote flash within a multi-light system.
Weather Resistant Quality Build
With a sealed, weather-resistant housing and robust design, the EL-1 (Ver 2) is reliable on-location in outdoor environments, with similar protection levels to Canon’s professional L-Series lenses.

Our used products are subject to wear and tear in comparison to brand new products. This also applies to accessories that are supplied with the camera including batteries which may have a lower optimum performance level/life expectancy.
- Like New – The equipment is in a condition as if you have just bought it from the manufacturer. The item is still considered to be ‘Like New’ even without the original packaging and accessories. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect working order. Lenses are optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. The product has been fully tested and is in perfect excellent order.
- Cameras – Should have no marks on the LCD screen
- Lenses – Should have no marks on the elements and optically clear. There may be light dust present that will not effect the imagery.
- Very Good – The equipment may have some slight cosmetic wear to the paintwork and cosmetic blemishes with only light signs of use and the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – The LCD screen may have small signs of wear that does not affect its display
- Lenses – The mount of the lens will start to show signs of wear
- Good – The equipment is showing more obvious signs of cosmetic wear and blemishes, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen may have scratches or wear that is starting to affect the display.
- Lenses – May have slight dust inside that does not affect images. The mount shows signs of use.
- Well Used – The equipment will show significant signs of wear. The paintwork will be coming away in large areas exposing the metal work, but the product has been fully tested and is in great working order.
- Cameras – LCD screen is heavily worn either by de-lamination or has scratches to it. Rubber grips are starting to come away from the body.
- Lenses – The lens has dust inside that may affect images. The rubber zoom/focus ring is coming away from the barrel of the lens.
