Cokin P Series Black and White Filter Kit (H400-03)

This Cokin P Series Filter Kit contains four filters that can be used individually to improve the results of your black and white photography. The included filters consist of a yellow filter, an orange filter, a red filter and a green filter. Each filter can be used to increase image contrast between colors within a scene that match or are analogous to the filter's color versus colors within a scene that are complementary to filter's color. Additionally, the green filter helps to effectively separate various hues among green-colored subjects into black-and-white tones.

To allow these filters to be placed in front of a lens, a separately-available Cokin P Series filter holder and a Cokin P Series lens adapter ring are required. Each filter is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 84 x 84 x 1.6mm.

  • P001 Yellow Resin Filter for Black & White Film

Commonly used for a noticeable increase in contrast with black and white films. Especially useful for clear contrast between blue sky with clouds and foreground. It is also suitable for landscapes and nature scenes.

This filter measures 85 x 85mm and fits the Cokin P series holder.

  • P002 Orange Resin Filter for Black & White Film

This deep orange filter darkens blue, violet, green and yellow-green. It particularly useful for all landscape and architectural photography(on black and white film) requiring vivid contours. The sky is distinctly toned with the clouds clearly contrasted against it. It is suitable for landscapes and nature scenes.

This filter measures 85 x 85mm and fits the Cokin P series holder.

  • P003 Red Resin Filter for Black & White Film

This red filter is ideal for strong contrast improvement since it absorbs green and blue completely and enhances red. Clouds are dramatically improved almost to the mood of a thunderstorm. It is more effective in cutting through haze, and moonlight effects are easily accomplished. It is also suited for infrared photography.

This filter measures 85 x 85mm and fits the Cokin P series holder.

  • P Series Green 0.8 Filter (2.6 Stop)

The Cokin P Series Green 0.8 Filter is designed for use with a Cokin P Series Filter Holder. It can be used to increase image contrast between green-colored subjects versus red-colored subjects when photographing using a film camera system with black-and-white film installed. Additionally, various hues among green-colored subjects can be effectively separated into black-and-white tones.

When using this filter, wavelengths of visible light that are apparent as red and violet colors to the human eye are suppressed, while visible light associated with green, yellow, orange and blue colors are able to more easily pass though the Cokin P Series Green 0.8 Filter and into the lens it is mounted in front of. When photographing with this filter along with black-and-white film, red and violet-colored subjects within a scene are reproduced in dark shades of grey than if a filter was not used. Simultaneously, green, yellow, orange, and blue subjects are rendered in lighter shades of grey.

When applied to black-and-white photography, shades from green within foliage can be discerned, skies become lighted while clouds are made less distinguishable, and the appearance of freckles or any skin pigmentation is intensified.

This filter has a 0.8 density and reduces light from entering a lens by 2.6 stops. It is made of durable, optical resin (CR39) and measures 1.6mm thick.

Increases image contrast when photographing using a film camera system with black-and-white film installed

Produces dark shades of grey from red and violet-colored subjects and lighter shades of grey from green, yellow, orange, and blue subjects than without a filter

When applied to black-and-white photography, can effectively separate various hues among green-colored subjects such as within foliage into black-and-white tones; skies become lighted while clouds are made less distinguishable, and the appearance of freckles or any skin pigmentation is intensified

6x filter factor reduces exposure by two and two-thirds of a stop

Constructed from optical resin (CR39) for clarity and durability
