The work resulted in a a number of print exhibitions, including one at the Royal Photographic Society and attracted a letter of commendation from His Royal highness the Duke of Cambridge for the work. Terry will be guiding you and sharing his knowledge and expertise on how to best capture photographs of this life saving service.
Not only will you gain an insight into a day of the life of the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) this is also a fantastic opportunity to capture a variety of images, while at the airbase. About the Wiltshire Air Ambulance:
We provide an essential Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) throughout the county and beyond, delivering the best medical care possible to anybody who lives, works or travels in Wiltshire.
Our paramedics are trained in Critical Care skills, enabling them to perform enhanced procedures and administer additional pain relief and medication. The air ambulance can be ready for take-off in just two minutes and reach anywhere in Wiltshire within nine minutes. The speed of our helicopter, along with the skill of our crew, can make the difference between life and death.
We can fly up to 19 hours a day and attend, on average, 3 potentially lifesaving missions a day. We are called to all kinds of emergencies, from road traffic collisions to cardiac incidents, child-related emergencies to horse riding and cycling injuries. These incidents are not just in Wiltshire but in neighbouring counties as well.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance is a charity that relies on public donations, the support of businesses and the local community to raise the £3.75 million a year needed to keep this lifesaving service and crew flying.
About Terry Donnelly:
Terry is one of Sony Europes imaging Ambassadors and works in top flight sports and environmental portraiture, winning photographer of the year awards each year since 2014.
He is the holder of three Fellowships and a Masters in photography, including a Fellowship with the Royal Photographic Society FRPS and has had work exhibited in over 25 countries.
