Leica Televid HD 65 Kit Angled View with Vario Eyepiece 20x-60x Summary

The Leica Televid HD 65 Kit combines Leica’s 45º HD angled spotting scope and the versatile 20-60x Vario eyepiece, which creates a high-quality and portable setup for wildlife and nature observation. The 65mm front lens keeps the system smaller and more lightweight than the 82mm variant, while still delivering premium image performance thanks to fluorite glass optics and Leica’s High Lux Pro (HLP™) coating system.

This angled scope features an achromatic lens construction, which achieves vibrant colour, strong contrast and high detail across the magnification range. With a close focusing distance of just 2.9 metres, the Televid HD 65 is well-suited to watching both distant wildlife and somewhat closer subjects. The included 20-60x Vario eyepiece provides additional flexibility for scanning wider scenes or zooming in for precise species identification, which is especially useful for fieldwork and recording observations.

The spotting scope housing is built from magnesium with full rubber armour, making it durable, field-ready and waterproof to 5 metres. Leica’s dual-focus system allows for both fast and fine focusing, which helps maintain sharpness in changing conditions. The scope is fully compatible with Leica’s modular digiscoping accessories, supporting the Leica Q, SL and M cameras, as well as smartphones through Ollin’s magnetic mounting system.

Whether you’re heading into the mountains, the coast, or your local reserve, this Televid HD 65 kit offers a compact and reliable optical system with Leica’s renowned performance. It’s a great choice for those who need flexibility in the field, without carrying the bulk of a larger spotting scope.

Brightness and Detail, Even in Low Light

The Leica Televid HD 65 Kit includes the 20-60x Vario eyepiece, which provides users with a broad magnification range from a lightweight scope kit. Despite its compact 65mm front element, the scope delivers impressive image brightness thanks to fluorite glass and Leica’s High Lux Pro (HLP™) optical coating system. The achromatic lens design provides excellent colour neutrality and contrast, making it well suited to wildlife observation, birdwatching, and long-distance viewing where accuracy is essential.

Compact Durable Design

With a 45º angled design and Leica’s patented dual-focus system, this spotting scope enables comfortable extended viewing and precise focus control. The magnesium housing is rubber-armoured for extra protection, while full nitrogen sealing ensures water and fog resistance to a depth of 5 metres. At just over 1 kg, the HD 65 is highly portable and ready for field use in all seasons.

Modular for Digiscoping

As part of Leica’s modular Televid system, the HD 65 supports a range of digiscoping accessories. Dedicated adapters connect Leica Q, M, or SL cameras, while the Ollin magnetic smartphone adapter allows image capture with mobile devices. Paired with the Leica FOTOS app, users can quickly share their observations in the field.

Eyepieces and Accessories

This kit includes the Leica 20-60x Vario eyepiece for versatile magnification with crisp detail throughout the zoom range. Optional extras such as the 1.8x extender, carbon fibre tripod, and weather-resistant carry cases allow users to expand their setup as needed.
