Events

Throughout the year, Park Cameras hold and attend a range of events, both in store and in our education suite. Keep a note of this page for all future events in 2014 and 2015!

Join Park Cameras at our London store, on Wednesday 29th October, where we’ll be joined by social documentary photographer Michael Wayne Plant and Sony UK to show you through the Sony a7 and a6000.

In the morning, we’ll have two sessions showcasing the Sony a7 and how it can be used both for shooting street photography as well as in a studio environment. Michael will show you how he uses the camera for his documentary and street life work, and give tips on how to get the best out of the camera.

In the afternoon, we’ll have two sessions showing how the a6000 is an excellent all-round camera, and is a great camera for beginners or advanced photographers, as well as being a viable alternative to Digital SLRs.

Within both sessions there will be plenty of time to interact with Michael and ask any questions you wish. You’ll be able to get your hands on both the a7 and a6000 to try them out for yourself. A technical expert from Sony UK will also be available offering extra advice.

Sony A7 Event - October 2014

Join Park Cameras on our new Photo Walk series! Each walk will incorporate various places of interest, and we’ll be stopping at these locations to offer advice from the walk leader. On some occasions, we’ll have new products available for you to try out on the walk.

Photo walk Six explores some of the most iconic landmarks in London.

From Waterloo we head to the Southbank, Hayward Gallery and the BMX/Skateboard park. We then go along the Jubilee path past the London Eye for great views of Big Ben and the Houses Of Parliament. Crossing Westminster Bridge, we then enter Parliament square and explore the surroundings. Westminster Abbey is next then we cut back across Parliament square, past Downing Street until we arrive at Horseguards. Passing through Horseguards we then enter St James’s Park walking alongside the lake up to Buckingham Palace. We then head back along the Mall then up through Green Park past the Ritz to Green Park Station

There will be plenty of chances for architecture, landscape and street photography as well as silhouettes, action, reflections etc.

The walk will be a leisurely pace and is on mainly level ground, plenty of time is allowed for you to get your shots and your photo walk leader is at your service for hints and tips.

At the conclusion of the walk, we return to a meeting spot for feedback forms and details of our Photo Walk competition.
This Photo Walk starts at Park Cameras London store and is approximately 3 miles.

Places are available to book for only £20! For full details and to book your place, please click here.
