New Firmware Updates: Fujifilm FinePix HS20 EXR | Fujifilm Finepix F500/F550 EXR

Park Cameras would like to make all our customers aware of some recently announced firmware upgrades for the FinePix HS20EXR and the FinePix F500/F550EXR which are available on the Fujifilm website.

This firmware update has been released to address some minor issues in these cameras, and future deliveries of these products will already have this firmware installed.

The F500/F550EXR firmware improves the power consumption of the camera and so ensures that more pictures can be taken without the need to recharge the battery. Fujifilm FinePix X100 Statement

Fujfilm's production facility had been shut down due to safety concerns following the earthquake in the North East of Japan, but Park Cameras are pleased to inform to our customers that they have now resumed production. However the production capacity is not at the level it was before the earthquake and we will have to continue to allocate to orders on the system.

The next allocation from Fujfilm is likely to be from mid April onwards and will be severely limited, but Park Cameras and Fujifilm can assure you that we are working as hard as possible to try and fulfil your back-orders as soon as possible.

Tamron has introduced a compact zoom lens with a focal length of 18-270mm.

This new lens features a newly developed Piezo Ultrasonic Motor (PZD). This drive ensures a fast, precise and silent autofocus, making it the perfect choice for capturing fast moving subjects.

In adition to this, this lens features Tamrons Vibration Technology (VC) which was improved to allow a more compact design. The VC element is adjusted 4000 times a second in order to compensate for vibration, allowing a maximum advantage of 4-stops, allowing hand-held photography in situations where this was not previusly possible.

The compact and light-weight construction of the 18-270mm PZD make it the ideal travel companion covering everything from wide-angle for landscape, to telephoto for close-up photography. If Macro photography interests you, then this lens also offers a light-macro capability with a maximum magnifciation ratio of 1:3,8 throughout the focal length range.

Both the Canon and Nikon fit versions of this lens are currently in stock, with the Sony fit to follow soon. Please note that the Sony mount is not equipped with the VC image stabilisation mechnaism due to the fact that Sony’s Digital SLR bodies have image stabilsiation functions built in.
