Full Frame Image SensorThe Canon EOS 6D Mark II features a 26.2 megapixel CMOS sensor with a 3:2 aspect ratio and EOS integrated cleaning system, as well as a Primary Colour filter. Full frame sensors have the advantage over crop APS-C sensors offering greater control over depth of field and superior low-light performance. Powering this sensor is Canon's tried and tested DIGIC 7 image processor, offering fast writing of images and video to the latest memory cards. Access to Canon EF mount lensesAside from the technical advantages of full-frame cameras, with a Canon EOS full frame DSLR, you have access to the entire range of Canon's legendary EF-mount lenses. This includes their top-end L-Series lenses which offer the absolute best in image quality for your images. Fast & Accurate focusingfocusing on the EOS 6D Mark II is made possible through the optical viewfinder thanks to a phase detection system with an AF dedicated sensor and in LiveView mode on the vari-angle LCD touchscreen thanks to the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system that we first saw on the Canon 5D Mark IV. One of the major improvements over the 6D Mark II, the Mark II has 45 cross-type AF points (as opposed to the 11 AF points on the Mark I only one of which was cross-type). The AF system in the 6D Mark II works at down to -3 EV via the optical viewfinder and down to -2.5 EV via liveview on the LCD screen. Exposure ControlUsing the camera's optical viewfinder gives you a 7560-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor with the metering area divided into 63 segments offering four modes Evaluative metering (linked to all AF points), Partial metering (approx. 6.5% of the viewfinder), Spot metering (approx. 3.2% of the viewfinder), and Centre-weighted average metering. Shooting with LiveView on the LCD screen gives you the same four modes but Evaluative metering offers 315 zones, partial metering covers approx. 6.3% of the LCD screen, and spot metering uses approx. 2.7% of the LCD screen. The metering range of the 6D Mark II is from EV 1 to 20 via the optical viewfinder and EV 0 to 20 using LiveView on the LCD Screen. Canon 6D Mark II ShutterThe shutter in the EOS 6D Mark Ii is an electronically controlled focal-plane shutter with a speed variance from 30 seconds to 1/4000th sec in ½ or 1/3 stop increments, also offering Bulb mode. Optical viewfinderThe viewfinder in the 6D Mark II is an optical pentaprism viewfinder with approx. 98% coverage and a magnification of approx. 0.71x. The eyepoint in the viewfinder is approx. 21mm from eyepiece to lens centre and there's a dioptre correction of -3 to +1. When looking through the viewfinder, the information available includes AF information with AF points, focus confirmation, AF area selection mode and AF mode; Exposure information with exposure mode, shutter mode, aperture value, ISO speed, AE lock, exposure level/compensation, metering mode, spot metering circle, exposure warning, and AEB; flash information with flash ready notification, high-speed sync, FE lock, flash exposure compensation, and red-eye reduction light; image information with card information, maximum burst (2 digit display), and highlight tone priority; composition information with a grid, electronic level, and aspect ratio; and other information including drive mode, battery level, alert symbol, flicker detection and image quality (RAW/JPEG). There's also a depth of field preview button. Vari-Angle LCD MonitorThe screen on the 6D Mark II is a 3.0inch (7.7cm) 3:2 aspect ratio, Clear View II TFT vari-angle touch screen with 1040k-dots and approx. 100% coverage as well as a approx. 170 degree viewing angle. It's coated with an anti smudge coating and the brightness is adjustable to one of seven levels. Display options on the monitor are Quick Control Screen, Camera Settings, and Electronic Level. External Flash SyncThe Canon 6D Mark II will shoot with an on-camera or external flash unit using E-TTL II auto flash mode and metered manual mode, with a maximum sync speed of 1/180th sec and exposure flash compensation of +/- 3EV in ½ or 1/3 increments. Flash exposure bracketing is possible with a compatible external flash, and it also features flash exposure lock and second curtain synchronisation. There's a HotShoe for an external flash and the camera is compatible with E-TTL II with EX series Speedlites and wireless multi-flash support. Shooting ModesThe shooting modes available are: Scene Intelligent Auto, Creative Auto, Special Scene (Portrait, Group Photo, Landscape, Sports, Kids, Panning [31], Close-up, Food, Candlelight, Night Portrait, Handheld Night Scene, HDR Backlight Control), Program AE, Shutter-priority AE, Aperture-priority AE, Manual exposure, Bulb exposure, Custom (C1/C2).
