Park Cameras London Photo Walk Greenwich
|Course Name: London Photo Walk - Greenwich|
|Course Location: Park Cameras School of Photography - London Training Centre|
All courses are booked through Eventbrite - click below for available dates
Meet at The Gate Clock pub, 210 Creek Road, London SE10 9RB at 11 am - this is next to Cutty Sark DLR station. Pre-walk briefing and route map handouts plus hints and tips before we travel to the walk starting point. Following the walk walkers can submit up to 10 images for feedback and one image for post-processing work in Lightroom. All walkers will receive a free copy of the e-book "How to shoot Anything".
We then head to Greenwich Market - a vibrant and colourful market with art and crafts for sale as well as an exciting array of foods. Ideal for street photography, macro and available light photography.
We then head to Greenwich Park, moving up the hill to the Royal Observatory. Here we will have stunning views across London as well as great opportunities for street and candid photography.
Moving back down the Hill we then visit the Royal Naval College and the Queens House - to see the stunning Tulip Staircase and the wonderfully atmospheric Queens House (Please note the Queens house is occassionally closed for private events).
We then Cross over moving to the fabulous Painted Hall before moving to conclude the walk at the Cutty Sark at around 1 pm. From here you are close to Cutty Sark station and free to explore the area or visit one of the many pubs and restaurants nearby.
Your walk leader will be available to help and advise you throughout the walk. We recommend you bring a DSLR or CSC camera with a small selection of lenses on our photo walks. A wide angle and telephoto lens will always be useful as would a standard zoom or standard lens. A Compact camera would be equally useful if you don't have an interchangeable lens camera. We don't recommend you bring a tripod but do please bring your mobile phone if you have one.
Walks are designed to be on the mostly level ground and there are plenty of opportunities en-route for comfort breaks. Should you get separated from the group the walk leader's mobile number is provided and they will re-attach you!
The walk leader will take images as the group continue and show these to you to give you ideas on the type of images you may wish to take.
Please note that you will receive an email from us a day or two before the event with full meeting point instructions and suggestions on what to bring with you.
Your walk leader will give suggested settings and show example images on the walk as well as pointing out photo opportunities. Full help and assistance provided to help you get the shots you want and take away knowledge for your future photography.
An interchangeable lens camera (DSLR or Mirrorless) is ideal and wide angle, standard and telephoto lenses will all be useful. However all our walks are structured so you can get fantastic shots whatver lens you use. We recommend one or two camera bodies and lens range from say 16mm to 200mm if available.
Please do not bring a tripod but do bring a mobile phone and bottle of water!
