Park Introduction to using RAW - Open Ended
The aim of the course is to explain the benefits of the RAW recording format and how the use of this format use can benefit photographers in terms of altering exposure, correcting white balance and applying sharpening and other alterations.
We will look at both the manufactures proprietary RAW formats and Adobe’s own variant DNG. We will explore the use of the various software options including Canon’s DPP, Nikon View NX, Adobe Elements. Lightroom and Photoshop and the advantages of Creative Cloud.
This workshop will be held at the Park Cameras showroom, York Road, Victoria Business Park, Burgess Hill, West Sussex RH15 9TT. A map can be found on the second page.
The timings of the day are as follow:
9.00- 9.20: Arrive and register tea and coffee
9.30 – 9.45: Session 1 – Introduction to the RAW file format & the different variants
9.45 – 10.15: Demonstration of the benefits of RAW - Exposure, White Balance and Lens corrections
10.15 – 10.45: Introduction to Adobe’s DNG format & associated benefits
10.45 – 11.00: Tea / coffee break
11.00 – 11.30: Session 2 – Use of Canon & Nikon’s proprietary software solutions
11.30 – 12.30: Introduction to Adobe’s software products – Elements, Lightroom & Photoshop
12.45 – 13.00 Use of Adobe’s Dehaze facility and the benefits of Creative Cloud
12.45 – 13.00: Questions and Answers.
