School of Photography Microbite Workshops - London
|Course Name: Microbite Workshops- London|
|Course Location: Park Cameras School of Photography - Rathbone Place, London|
This course usually runs every month.
Would you like to improve your photography in one day, for free?...of course you would!
Maybe you've purchased a new camera recently and want to get to grips or maybe you've been taking photos in AUTO mode for years and now you want to take control...that's what Microbite Workshops are all about!
*Please note these are 3 separate sessions*
11:30am - 12:30pm
Get out of AUTO!
In this one hour session, we teach you how to let go of AUTO mode and harness the power of your camera. You'll go away with an understanding of your cameras main key features; ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed. Understanding these three elements will allow you to vastly improve your images using either your DSLR, Mirrorless or Compact Camera.
We break down what all the jargon means and how you can use it to make creative images. The good news is if you learn one digital camera, you pretty much learn them all!
1:00pm - 3:00pmBritish Museum & Soho Photowalk
Get to know your camera and join us as we go on a walk around London and take some shots of its unique character. Your Park Cameras instructor will share a variety of tips and tricks to help you get some fantastic images and encourage you to see the streets of London from a different perspective. This photo walk is suitable for all skill levels.
Starting from our London store which is just off of Oxford Street (W1T 1JR), you will wind your way through the bustling streets taking in the British Museum and Soho in London's West End. The walk is at a leisurely pace and covers mainly level ground.
Make sure you bring your camera- batteries and memory, suitable clothing and perhaps a bottle of water. You can bring wide angle and telephoto lenses but don't worry if you only have one....there's plenty of subjects to shoot!
1:00pm - 2:00pmChoosing The Right Lens Workshop
Join us for this 60-minute session where we discuss the different types of lenses and how you would use them.
Every lens has it's own pro's and con's and, as a beginner, it can be a little bit tricky to know what is the best tool for the job. We cover zooms, wide-angle, telephoto, fisheye, macro and perspective control lenses in one, easy to understand session.
We recommend that you bring in your camera so we can refer to specific elements to assist your ongoing understanding of your device.
