Course Overview

This is the most comprehensive Adobe Lightroom course available in the UK - and aims to cover the use of Adobe Lightroom, which tools are most appropriate and the workflow guaranteed to produce the best possible results.

Introduction to Adobe Lightoom Part 1 is for anyone who is thinking about buying, or has recently bought Lightroom and is looking for the most efficient workflow for manipulating digital images.

The first Introduction to Adobe Lightroom course covers the following topics:

  • Screen calibration & file backup - why is this essential? 
  • File management - the importance of managing your files outside Lightroom 
  • Recommended settings - Identity Plate & other appropriate settings & preferences 
  • Import Module fully explained and demonstrated (How to import from a memory card and from hard drive folders) 
  • Navigation of the Libarary Module 
  • Keywording and Metadata explained & why this is key to organisation within Lightroom

  • Rating/Selecting images to manipulate

Required Equipment

This course is held within our School of Photography, and is computer & software based so you don't need to bring anything with you.

Required Skill Level

As this is a computer and software based course, all that is required is a reasonable level of computer competency & knowledge.

However, knowledge of the following would be preferred, but are not essential:

  • Image manipulation - Knowledge of any version of Photoshop 
  • File organisation and backup 
  • Use of RAW files
