LEE Filters 100mm System 0.6 ProGlass Neutral Density Standard Filter

The LEE Filters 100mm System 0.6 ProGlass Neutral Density Standard Filter reduces exposure by 2 Stops equally across the entire frame.

ND standards can be classed as essential in modern photography. These filters absorb light evenly across the visible spectrum, therefore reducing the light entering the lens without affecting the image colour. Traditionally used on film for extending shutter speeds in bright conditions, they are now becoming essential to digital photographers for reducing the sensitivity of sensor chips on camera s which have relatively high minimum ISO settings.

ND Standards extend exposure times allowing for movement in an image, be it people, water, foliage or clouds. If used with care the effects can be impressive.

The ProGlass and is an extremely high quality glass and standard filter optimised for use with digital camera s, but equally useful for film.

This filter uses a surface coating made from evaporated metal, and therefore provides very even absorption across the visible spectrum and through the UV and Infra Red regions.

Digital SLR users need to use and standard filters to prolong exposure times in bright conditions for landscape photography, but the excess UV and IR can cause colour problems in some lighting situations. The ProGlass filter reduces any chance of false colour casts, and also provides a result described as punchier on digital and film because the light forming the image is more specific to the requirements of the film or sensor.

Specialist filters for digital

When shooting digitally, light at the infrared and ultraviolet ends of the spectrum can be problematic. The ProGlass range of filters has been designed with this in mind. These glass neutral density filters are optimised for use with digital camera s, as they absorb more infrared and ultraviolet light than traditional and filters. The result is a punchier image, with less discolouration in adiverse lighting conditions.

Lee offer and Standards with a full range of stopping power

The aim of the and Standard filter is to reduce the exposure equally across the entire frame. It is most commonly used to lengthen shutter speeds in order to blur movement.

Ultimate flexibility

ND Filters can be stacked together, or used with other filters, so you can respond to almost any lighting condition.
